Flip32 and X4R-SB - SBUS?
#1
Repost from OscarLiang's blog here.

I’m trying to get the hack to work with my Flip32, and the X4r-SB isn’t communicating with my Flip32. Here is an image of how I’ve wired it up: http://i.imgur.com/6IbnfKI.jpg I’m not sure if I have to connect the red (5v) and the VCC to the pins on the uninverted signal, but for now I connected the VCC into the uninverted signal, and the 5v and ground with a plug onto the pins of the X4r-SB. I have bound it to my transmitter, so I do know that’s not the issue.

Here’s an album of the setup if you need it. http://imgur.com/a/aFgCf

Your yellow signal wire is wrong i guess. It has to be connected to A (uninverted SBUS signal).

Don't know how to tag users.... But thanks guys, I was sort of wondering if that was the issue, but I didn't want to have to reglue / resolder in case it wasn't. The way I got confused was by old RCA cables, haha. Used to yellow actually giving the "signal".

You are right, yellow giving the signal. Red is VCC (in your case 5V) and black is ground.

IMO this is the best way to do the mod, just for the sake of completeness:

This way you can just use your standard servo cable and also be able to unplug it!

Just did this, worked perfectly! I can use a regular servo cable just by removing and bridging, thanks so much!
