FlightWorks Rebel 220
#16
I can confirm that the Rebel 220 is a very durable frame indeed!

As we all know, trying to land with an FPV setup is challenging to say the least. A combination of a very small landing zone surrounded by trees, wind and my misjudgement led to my Rebel crashing into a tiled patio and then a wooden window shutter at a speed that was high enough to leave a significant dent in the wood from the arm of the quad!

Turn your volume down before clicking 'Play'!

ROFL

Damage to the quad was limited to a slight bend in the upper plate and FPV camera support, both of which will bend back to the original shape. It also broke a solder joint where the ground wire to my Smart Audio/microphone interface was attached to the flight controller. I don't have the tools I need to get it back into the air with me, so the Rebel is grounded until I return to Sweden.

So, not only is the Rebel 220 one very good looking and light quad, it's also just as durable as the all metal frame would suggest!

as soon as I saw how long the video was and the altitude it started at, I had a feeling it was going to be a heavy impact! Coming in HOT!! Looks like a beautiful spot for your holiday, I hope the 'Greecians' are treating you well!? Wink

Very well thanks!

Apart from the mosquito bites, I'm having a lovely time here.

I nearly lost my Atom 122 in the wind yesterday when it came down in the neighbour's garden. Thanks to the beeper, they found it almost immediately and returned it to me. I've now grounded that craft as well while the strong, gusty wind remains.
