Flashing a Board
#1
I have a Flip32 F4 that I got from readytoflyquads.  I haven't had to flash it yet but if I do what board do I select in Betaflight?  Should I choose Naze as I understand this is a clone.

Thanks!

Pretty sure it's the OMNIBUSF4 target, but you can confirm this when you go to the Betaflight Wiki to grab the file. Definitely not the Naze though

The clue that it's NOT a Naze32 derivative is in the name of the flight controller - Flip32 F4.

The Naze32 uses the F1 processor and should be viewed as legacy hardware these days.

I have the exact same board - came with Betaflight 3.0.0 (REVO target).  I just flashed it with 3.1.7 successfully.
Pick "REVO" target
Select "Full Chip Erase"
Select "Manual Baud rate" and set to 256000
(Leave other options off).
Doing it this way, I did NOT need to use the bootloader button.  (I am using a Mac though - Just FYI)

One other thing I should mention.  I got my board about 4 months ago.  At that time, there were a lot of reports (on RCG) about the on-board regulator getting very hot.  (This is one of the reasons I haven't mounted it on anything yet.) If the newer boards have not changed anything, be sure and allow for plenty of free-flowing air over the regulator.

The new boards my be updated.  I haven't experienced the regulator getting hot.

What is the Flip32 a clone of?  I feel like i've read it's a clone.

If it's the ReadtToFly clone, then yes it's the CC3D Revolution target

"Flip32" seems to be a brand name rather than meaning just one specific flight controller, so there are many different boards which have names starting with "Flip32". I have no idea who the originator of the brand name was, but RTFQ seem to use it for most of the flight controllers they sell.

On the RTFQ site, there are no fewer than 44 products listed under Flight Controllers -> Flip Series.

If the board has betaflight pre-flashed, you can run the command 'version' in the CLI and it'll give you a bunch of information including the target name.

It gives you the target name in the product description
