4 15-Feb-2016, 09:19 PM (This post was last modified: 15-Feb-2016, 09:21 PM by CurryCat.) Does anyone know if its possible to flash BLHeli firmware to DYS SN16A ESCs through Cleanflight (flight controller)?
I'm using a Naze Rev6 for this, do you know if it supports passthrough?
edit: so if i don't have BLheli on it previously, do I need a USB linker to flash BLHeli on them?

2 15-Feb-2016, 09:24 PM (This post was last modified: 15-Feb-2016, 09:24 PM by indiastar.) Naze32 Rev6 should work, since my Naze rev5 definitely does.
But You CANNOT flash simonK bootloader ESCs via pass-through, and Dys SN16A has simonK bootloader that comes from the factory (I think), even though they may have BLHeli Firmware.
To use Clean Flight to flash you have to have BLHeli bootloader on the ESC.

4 thanks! so to flash the BLHeli bootloader on those ESC's, can I use a FTDI adapter? would Arduino work?

2 An FTDI adapter only gives you serial port. To flash ESC-s you need a micro-controller with loaded firmware that communicates with the ESC.
It can be an USB linker or an Arduino programmed as a linker.
