First Build Critique
#1
I have wanted to build my own drone since a while before i got my first drone but it hasn't happened. I am getting more serious about it now and I have a parts list made. I want to run this by the experts to see if I am sane or not.

Speedybee Mario 5 frame Its a new one so probably not much experience here with it
Speedybee ESC FC stack 60amp
Emax EcoII motors
Foxeer Extreme VTX 2.5 Watt version
Radiomaster Ranger Micro Combo (comes with  2 RP1 ExpressLRS 2.4ghz Nano Receiver and 1 RP2 ExpressLRS 2.4ghz Nano Receiver)
runcam Phoenix 2 JB edition
HGLRC mini M100 gps
Some 30 20 and 14 AWG silicone wire

I have a Radiomaster tx12 mkII with the CC2500 protocol hence the ranger micro

My goals for the quad is mostly just normal ripping but some longish range if I can coax enough flight time out of it. I have mostly depleted my supply of 4s batteries so I plan to move to 6s. I want to make sure I haven't forgot something or some incompatibilities or a place to save money.

Which Emax motors? Eco 2 is the range. Guessing you are going for 2207 or 2306 (or bigger) on such a heavy build. Anyway, not my area of experience. But going to be crazy heavy with a 170g frame. Someone else might make suggestions.

I was thinking the 2306 not sure whether the 1700 kv or 1900 kv. Now that you say it I might try to cut weight somewhere , but I really like to have all the features I want such as a totally overkill vtx. I like it when people say "That's a nice quad on that vtx"lol. I actually might look for a 6 inch frame.

I'll make the assumption you are doing Part107 to remain legal (or you already have it) given your quad weight will be far beyond 250g. But if not, you will need to, plus the ubiquitous remote id. If not remember to fly where no one else is and far away from people. Even so with really loud motors expect to talk to the local police from time to time. They will check your tickets to make sure you have dotted your I's and crossed your T's, from what I've heard and read. I don't know what the outcome is if you haven't, I also don't know if it classed as a civil matter or whether it is a criminal matter. At the bare minimum if you get stopped and don't have the correct paperwork, i'm guessing a multi thousand dollar fine, but that is based on the handful of quad and drone videos i've watched where people got busted by the FAA. The average seemed to be between 5000 and 10000. But that's up to you to deal with. Also a HAM license is needed for a powerful VTX, if you are going on the law abiding path, if not do whatever.

I don't see anything obviously wrong with your spec. If it doesn't work perfect try different parts and rebuild. It's half the fun of the hobby, rebuilding and trying new configurations.
