Well I'm diving in the fpv and I want to build my first quad from scratch I'm not a hundred percent familiar with everything but as the days go by I'm learning more and more. I had originally started with a little toy drone flying around the house and in the backyard but now I'd like to step it up to something a little more fun and first person. So I guess to get to the point here I've put together what I believe is a drone parts list but I just want to be sure before I hit the purchase button. Also if anyone has any better suggestions for what I have picked out or something's wrong please let me know so I can get myself on the proper track here. So far everybody have come across and the community has been absolutely amazing and I hope that this will further continue that. As follows is my parts list please again if I got something or you see something that could be a little better but still in the price Lanes or even possibly cheaper please let me know by all means Frame Martian II ESC 30A little bee four-in-one Motors samguk wei 2207 or samguk wu 2206 Pbd maytek systems xt-60 w\bed 5v and 12v VTX Micro 20x20mm Vtx Osd V1 40CH 5.8G 25mw-200mw Mini FPV Transimittervs Integrated OSD RHCP For F3 Fc omnibus betaflight f3 a10 v1.1 w\osd Props dalprop t5045c cyclone 5in 3 blade Trans. Besides the battery and charger am I missing anything wire straps etc. and will those all work together well and please any suggestions....also I'm lost when it comes to antennas lol... Again any help is very appreciated and thanx in advance • Posts: 67 Threads: 2 Likes Received: 30 in 26 posts Likes Given: 22 Joined: Nov 2017 Reputation: 0 Here is an article with some parts listed. HOW TO BUILD A RACING DRONE (FPV MINI QUAD) BEGINNER GUIDE I would rethink the 4in1 ESC. Much cheaper to replace one ESC when you forget to disarm in a panic on your many crashes learning. On the goggles I would look into the EV800 and EV800D The motors are really new to the market, durability is yet to be determined. I would use a regular VTX. you won't be able to mount the 20x20mm VTX in the stack anyway. Just some thoughts. Thanks for the input low...the 4 on 1 was a concern for me...its actually why I'm posting this lol....would you suggest sticking with little bee? And as far as the motors go I figured I'd give an a good beating and find out how good they really are. Maybe ill order sum 0o mph as well...any suggestions on the vtx and esc? • Posts: 33 Threads: 3 Likes Received: 14 in 9 posts Likes Given: 11 Joined: Jan 2018 Reputation: 0 I'm thinking esc Favourite FVT LittleBee Spring 20A ESC BLHeli_S 2-4S Dshot Mulitshot OneShot for RC Drone FPV Racing US Vtx Eachine VTX03 Super Mini 5.8G 72CH 0/25mW/50mw/200mW Switchable FPV Transmitter • Posts: 12,099 Threads: 125 Likes Received: 3,739 in 2,836 posts Likes Given: 99 Joined: Feb 2017 Reputation: 388 I was going to mention the VTX also. If you want tie it down, then it will work. If you plan on stacking it, then I would go with Matek, Tramp with Whitenoise board, Lumenier VTX similar to Matek. For Matek and Lumenier, get the MMCX connector. Everything else will work. Goggles, I am staying out of the debate. FC, I would go with a F4 board. I like AIO with built-in PDB. Cost the same as separate FC and PDB. Cleaner build. Current favorite FC, CL Racing F4 or F4S, Joshua Bardwell F4 and the DYS F4 Pro version 2. If you want to run cutting edge 32K gyro and pid loops, you will need F4 or F7 with ICM-20602. If you just want to fly and worry about cutting edge on the next build, just ignore me. Antenna - pagoda or TBS Posts: 67 Threads: 2 Likes Received: 30 in 26 posts Likes Given: 22 Joined: Nov 2017 Reputation: 0 16-Jan-2018, 11:13 PM (This post was last modified: 16-Jan-2018, 11:14 PM by Lowlife.) I don't know where you are located so I don't know if it would be more expensive ordering from the US. (If you are outside the US.) I would use the martian frame. (Banggood) BETAFLIGHT F4 FLIGHT CONTROLLER AIO (Has intergrated PDB) RACEDAYQUADS BADASS 2205 2450KV SPEDIX 20A ESC MACH 2 VIDEO TRANSMITTER You don't list an FPV camera. Don't forget that. You will need a XT60 you can get cheaper ones but here is an example. • Posts: 33 Threads: 3 Likes Received: 14 in 9 posts Likes Given: 11 Joined: Jan 2018 Reputation: 0 (16-Jan-2018, 11:09 PM)voodoo614 Wrote: I was going to mention the VTX also. No worries bud I'm just kind of putting one together that I'm going to beat the heck out of this is going to be one and I'm going to slam around for a bit maybe hand off to one of the boys and then build a real machine but thank you I will keep the bigger badder in mind for the next build..... But the Tramp is looking tantalizing at the moment • Posts: 33 Threads: 3 Likes Received: 14 in 9 posts Likes Given: 11 Joined: Jan 2018 Reputation: 0 Thanks for all the help guys you have been stellar I've made a few adjustments goggles switched over to the 800 d the VTX ESC and flight controller all of been changed as well I'll post some pics of the build when it's done again thank you all.... Anyway, welcome to the forum, and best of luck with your build Root! Thanks Tom I do have one more odd question though I'm currently looking at the FlySky FS i6s transmitter but I'm a bit unorthodox and I prefer Mode 4 where the yaw and the roll are switched is that going to be possible with that controller or do I need to swap some wires around possibly again a newbie here sorry I have flown in 2 and 4 but oddly enough for some reason I'm most comfortable in 4 I believe it's 4... throttle and roll on the left and elevation and yaw on the right • Posts: 33 Threads: 3 Likes Received: 14 in 9 posts Likes Given: 11 Joined: Jan 2018 Reputation: 0 Would the taranis qx7 and a fry sky x4r better suit my needs to achieve Mode 4 and a future with the controller? • Posts: 67 Threads: 2 Likes Received: 30 in 26 posts Likes Given: 22 Joined: Nov 2017 Reputation: 0 17-Jan-2018, 01:42 PM (This post was last modified: 17-Jan-2018, 05:27 PM by Lowlife.) My first advice is to learn to fly in mode 2 if you are in the US. Reason being you can grab another pilots transmitter and try it out and someone can use yours to trouble shoot your stuff if need be. It is easier to learn a new skill than to break old habits. (I watched a Youtube video of a pro pilot talking about this the other day.) As far as changing modes I THINK you can do it in the channel mapping on either transmitter. The Q X7 is a better transmitter. If you can afford it I would go with that anyway. • Posts: 67 Threads: 2 Likes Received: 30 in 26 posts Likes Given: 22 Joined: Nov 2017 Reputation: 0 17-Jan-2018, 03:09 PM (This post was last modified: 17-Jan-2018, 05:28 PM by Lowlife.) I assume this comes from playing video games and you are used to the way you move in them. Most people have no problem flying in mode 2 and playing video games then switch back and forth with no problem. When you are learning to fly you will get used to the controls however they are set. If you are thinking of sticking with FlySky protocols, I would say that the TGY (Turnigy) 9X is a pretty good option. The FlySky 9X doesn't support AFHDS 2A so it is incompatible with newer RX and the original AFHDS system can't do telemetry. The TGY 9X has bee updated to support iBUS/SBUS and is (I think) still compatible with OpenTX. Just FYI I play racing games (from the original Gran Turismo on the PS1 up to Forza on the Xbox 360) always with throttle on the right stick, but I fly mode 2, it took less than an hour to get my head around having the throttle on the 'wrong' side! However I'm pretty sure that you can change the channel mapping with most TX, the main problem comes from changing the throttle, and having to remove/move the gimbal springs.
