faulty rx (OrangeRx R617XL) ?
#1
Hi guys

I swapped my turnigy tx/rx for an orangerx 1.2 and a r617XL on my x220, when I power on the quad, sometimes the rx LED flashes once and nothing after, sometimes without changing anything, it flashes slowly continuously. I checked my wiring from the FC to the Rx and I seem to get 5V all the way, also when I shorten signal to ground for binding, nothing changes but the rx should go in binding mode and the LED should flash rapidly, needless to say I haven't managed to bind yet and to get a solid LED. I'm wondering if the Rx is faulty or if I should look for anything else ? the fact it randomly shows no light at all doesn't seem right.

Hey siwrx, just curious, did you hold the bind button while plugging in the Lipo? Doing this puts it into bind mode at least in my experience with frsky.

This Rx doesn't have any button, only way to put into bind mode is to earth the signal cable which I tried and nothing changed unfortunately

The OrangeRX brand Tx/Rx are DSM2/DSMX protocol.  The R617XL uses cPPM to communicate with your FC, so you need to make sure you have that set up correctly in BF (PPM Rx input).

There is a brief discussion here on attaching to FC: https://www.rcgroups.com/forums/showthre...7XL-issues

Here is a brief video showing how to bind:
