Fatshark Dominator v3 foam mod
#1
I love my Dominators but have never really been happy with the foam face gaskets they provide.  I decided to try the memory foam version manufactured by Skyzone and believe it or not, they fit pretty darn good.  They may not be for everyone, but they are very comfortable to me and I love the feel of the memory foam and leatherette covering much better.

I may very well not be the first to try this, but would of loved this tip a long time ago, so ...  if this is old news, I apologize, if it's new to you, then give it a try.

Thx for that tipp. Just ordered one. Smile

I once mounted the mask for the vent, but the fatshark foam pieces did not really work for me, so removed it again. This looks better.

Just so you know, your ebay link is more expensive than simply buying from fpvmodel directly. Both ship from the same place.

Does fpvmodel have free shipping too?
For me it's cheaper than ordering from local shops... Wink

Yep, after I saw the OP, I jumped over to ebay (where they were sold out). Then I did a quick google search and found the fpvmodel site. I grabbed them up and checked for shipping - free! Can't beat that, so I have one on the way. Wink

Did not fit so well for me, especially right below the eyes it was a bit too thin.

So i ended up using the Skyzone foam for the largest part (top and side), and the soft fatshark foam around the nose area. Much better now and sits pretty perfect. Big Grin

I'm very sorry to hear that ... just goes to show that everyone's face really is different. The Fatshark foam allowed just too much sag on my face and I had to tighten up the strap so much to hold it in place that it wasn't comfortable for me. The Skyzone fixed it for me.
Anyway, I'm glad you ended up with something that indeed worked for you.

cheers ...

Hey ,

Mine came in today and i have to say it feels pretty nice . Only thing i will try to do is to make the side's next to the eyes a bit thicker as i see light coming in on those sides sometimes.

That beeing only a "my face is different" problem i like this simple mod a lot :-)

Thanks

Don't be sorry, i'm really glad i bought it. Got to fly it the first time today, and it was perfect. Big Grin
Problem with the original foam pieces were that they were either too soft or too stiff.

This is very comfortable now, even with headstrap much tighter.
