Fat Shark FPV
#1
Hello guys,

I'm a beginner looking to get into the drone racing fpv experience. I've done a lot of research to learn as much as i can before buying parts and start building one. I've looked so far into the FPV systems and i came across the Fat Shark Predator v2 FPV RTF headset system. I read in another article that people recommend having a lipo battery voltage tester on the drone so it makes an alarm when the voltage gets low so you don't hurt your battery. One thing i noticed is that both the FPV and the buzzer use the same battery connector. How can i use both? or does the FPV already indicate the voltage? What do i do? or what do you guys recommend?

1. I started out with an AttitudeSD all-in-one kit a couple years ago. I remember researching all this stuff and it seemed that people liked the Attitude goggles better than the Predators. It's a good way to start out but you will probably upgrade to Dominators if you really get into it.

2. If you are building your own quad, you can solder a buzzer onto the appropriate pads on the flight controller. The FC has a built-in cutoffs for battery voltage that can even be changed in the Cleanflight software.

If you are getting into the hobby, you should buy a few lipo battery checkers.

Most batteries use the same balance collector, so you can use these interchangably on you aircraft or FPV gear. They will alarm you of when your battery is getting to a low voltage.

The new Fatshark Attitude v3 have the same resolution as the older Dominator V2s, come with an antenna and a receiver as well as headtracker and the RX can be upgraded.

There can be a huge difference in quality among the lower end models

Yeah, but if he gets a FatShark combo the Vtx will use the balance connector to power the Vtx. :-\

I've looked into getting the FATSHARK Predator V2's, they seem to have a good price and people seem to like it. Is their anything you recommend more than these? The attitudes v3 are more expensive . but what do  you think? Are the predators good??

If you are getting one of the Fatsharks... Go straight for the dominator if I were you... I have seen too many people had to resell their predators to upgrade to domv2 or v3 halfway through

Yeah +1 on the Dom recommendation. I love my DomV2s, I can't use anything else. I've tied a good variety, including LCD monitor, HeadplayHD, even rigged up Oculus Smile My friend retired his TeleporterV3 as a spectator set after less than a month.
