FAA approves two more community based organizations
#1
Today the FAA has approved two more community based organizations ( CBO ).  The FPV Freedom Coalition and the Flite Test Community Association.

https://www.faa.gov/uas/recreationalflie...anizations

So if you are the rule following type, you now have 3 options when it comes to which safety guidelines you wish to follow.

And yes, the FAA is absolutely abusing their power here and creating new rules recreational operators have to follow as part of this process.

At least the FPVFC has reasonable guidelines instead of mountains of paperwork, training, and checking. Still think the whole thing needs to back up though.

This is great news! I haven't looked at the FTC yet, but the FPVFC managed to get approval with a much less strict set of safety guidelines than the AMA has required: https://fpvfc.org/safety-guidelines

They also plan on actively applying for and setting up FRIAs to establish some precedent and work out what the FAAs approval process is. Definitely worth checking out the FPVFC if you're not familiar, and consider donating to support their work!

I am a member of the FTCA and FPVFC. It was nice seeing both of them approved.
