For example I am using "Racer 4-4". Should I move to "Band- A"? How can I do it in case? Thanks in advance for your answers! • Posts: 4,550 Threads: 38 Likes Received: 1,245 in 1,064 posts Likes Given: 430 Joined: Aug 2020 Reputation: 118 I will suggest you fly in regular mode rather than Racer mode as the expectation with Racer mode is that everyone else you are flying with is flying the same Racer mode. There is nothing special about Racer mode, it still uses the same Race band frequencies but spaces out pilots for minimum interference. Just use manual band/channel mode is my recommendation. Do not use Autoscan, it will not always lock you onto the correct transmitting frequency. Have a look at the manual: https://www.firstquadcopter.com/download...er-manual/# Specifically read and understand page 3 and 9. • Posts: 20 Threads: 4 Likes Received: 0 in 0 posts Likes Given: 8 Joined: Jul 2022 Reputation: 0 (05-Jul-2022, 01:56 AM)kafie1980 Wrote: I will suggest you fly in regular mode rather than Racer mode as the expectation with Racer mode is that everyone else you are flying with is flying the same Racer mode. I will do it as fast as possible and let you know how it goes! For the moment, thank you again • Posts: 20 Threads: 4 Likes Received: 0 in 0 posts Likes Given: 8 Joined: Jul 2022 Reputation: 0 So, since I can see the camera in Racing Mode 4-4, should I see it also in Band-r 8 because they use the same Radio Frequency? And, If I want, can I change the frequency to Band-A ch1? • Posts: 4,550 Threads: 38 Likes Received: 1,245 in 1,064 posts Likes Given: 430 Joined: Aug 2020 Reputation: 118 Yes Racing Mode 4-4 is the same frequency as band-r 8. In FPV we simply call that R8. Yes, you can change the frequency to A1 but then you also need to update your VTX to transmit at A1. • Posts: 20 Threads: 4 Likes Received: 0 in 0 posts Likes Given: 8 Joined: Jul 2022 Reputation: 0 ohh ok thanks. So do you think is better to flight in R8 instead of Racing 4-4? Thanks for your answer! • Posts: 4,550 Threads: 38 Likes Received: 1,245 in 1,064 posts Likes Given: 430 Joined: Aug 2020 Reputation: 118 Fly R8 so if you ever fly with others who do not own Eachine goggles and say Racing 4-4 they don’t stare at you with ???? in their eyes. Stick to standard frequency nomenclature. From my EV100 I could not see anything: too many noise and the signals dissapeared instantly after 3-4 meters. Even if I move my head or I flip in another diretion the signal is distorted. What could the problem? On the drone I use this antenna https://www.banggood.com/it/Realacc-5_8G...9634511532 while on the EV100 I use the same antenna in the first support while the stock one in the second slot. • Posts: 4,550 Threads: 38 Likes Received: 1,245 in 1,064 posts Likes Given: 430 Joined: Aug 2020 Reputation: 118 Ensure you have the correct frequency tuned in the Goggles and the VTX. No auto tuning, manually set the frequency. Ensure the VTX is not in pit mode. What quad are you flying? Posts: 924 Threads: 68 Likes Received: 337 in 251 posts Likes Given: 153 Joined: Dec 2021 Reputation: 18 I own over 15 headsets/goggles including two EV100's, as I use them for an after school club. For their price they are good and work OK. You should be able to get good usable video. The downside to them is a small screen size, so any interference has more visual effect. The way the EV100s select band can seem to leave you stuck in Race Band. Read the manual and practise at home! FIRSTLY, the range of frequencies available from the goggles and the Video Transmitter are almost certainly wider than the LEGAL range. You have not indicated your country, and it differs with where you are. Have to assume Italy as you have listed an Italian page in Banggood. In the UK, NONE of the E band 8 frequencies are legal, also not all the 8 Race Band frequencies are legal either. Many don't care, its your call. Best to KNOW though!!! SECONDLY, when matching aerials on VRX and VTX, if they are polarised, they need to be matching right or left handed (RHCP or LHCP). Are they? THIRDLY, The type of metal connection for the aerial comes in two types (SMA or RP-SMA), and a wrong pairing could mean you do not have the inner signal pin inserted into the inner hole when screwed together. The signal will likely "jump the gap" but will be unreliably bad and likely short range if wrong. FOURTHLY, the EV100s do not have true diversity on the two antenna, and its possible to have one "fight" the other to creat multi-pathing interference. They are better used as a pair of the same. SO, here's the process, assuming you have checked the above for positive mechanical connection and matching polarisation. 1. At flying site, turn the goggles on without the video from the quad on and check the frequency you intend to use is clear and also those close to it . You should have speckly snow over whole screen. This checks for interference. If its not clean, pick another frequency a way away that is. 2. Use the video power available from the VTX to get the best image, its switchable on the VTX if present. (The UK is legally limited to 25mW, but likely the VTX will have 25-50--100-200-400 mW settings. 3. Try to avoid using the letter/number system for frequency, as some units will not follow it! (A7 might on another unit be C2!!) and then you would noit be properly paired. Use the four figure frequency number, so (say) get both to be 5745 (5.745GHz). Likely one on 5745 and the other on 5733 WILL work, but have poor range! The numbers must match, not be close! (This assumes the two units are working accurately) 4. Do a walk away range check before flying, ESPECIALLY if you are going to be passing behind any obstacle, no matter how briefly. Let us know how you get on! • Posts: 20 Threads: 4 Likes Received: 0 in 0 posts Likes Given: 8 Joined: Jul 2022 Reputation: 0 Thanks both for the answers! I guess I am flying in PIT mode but I cannot set it to "OFF". Even if I switch it to off and I save, it automatically set it to on and I dont know the reasons. Btw I am flying with a custom build: Eachine TX805 • Posts: 4,550 Threads: 38 Likes Received: 1,245 in 1,064 posts Likes Given: 430 Joined: Aug 2020 Reputation: 118 If you check the Betaflight modes tab, there will be a Pitmode option. Check if there is an AUX switch assigned to it and remove it. If you still have issues with the vtx switching to pitmode then disable Smart Audio on the relevant UART in the ports tab. This should ensure the FC is not interfering with the VTX and you can use the button on the VTX to configure band/channel/power. If I go through "video transmitter tab" Pit mode is dissabled but if I switch on the drone and go thorugh the menu of the Ev100 I can see it is ON. • Posts: 4,550 Threads: 38 Likes Received: 1,245 in 1,064 posts Likes Given: 430 Joined: Aug 2020 Reputation: 118 You see Pitmode on the goggles menu? It seems to turn on when I switch on the drone and I watch with my googles if it is turned on or off • |
