Esc randomly rebooting/desyncing?
#1
I built a cinelog 25 using parts I had laying around. I'm using the geprc f4 20a board, and loaded the CLI that geprc offers on their site.

Almost every flight in this thing has been a mess. When it actually flies it's perfect, but I will get random desyncs, and at times, before it even takes off, I'll hear the last two beeps of the betaflight tune, like it's restarting.

Yesterday I reflashed bl heli S, and flew 3 packs without incident. This morning it's back to the same problems. I'm checking the amp draw in the osd and I rarely go up to even 15A... Is this board starting to crap out?

i had similar problems before, turns out one of the motor bolt was touching the windings. Check if you have the same issue.

Also do you have a low ESR capacitor soldered to the ESC power? That might also help.

Thank you, Oscar - I will test the motor screws (great article!)

I do have a capacitor soldered to the esc power. It was a 25v 470u but I also tried a 35v 470u with no luck.

The motor screws show no continuity. I am at a loss and will probably just replace the board. I see no signs of damage to the fets or anything. I'm going to be using this cinelog for work purposes so I'd rather just replace instead of worrying that I can't trust my gear. Thanks for the help and the article - I learned something new!
