4 04-Oct-2021, 07:15 AM (This post was last modified: 04-Oct-2021, 07:47 AM by Zanna83.) Hi guys, I have the following problem with my latest build. When I plug the battery the four ESC don't play the tones in unison. Differently from my other quads, you can clearly hear each of them (or part of them, don't know) not playing the initial tones as a single voice.
Please check the following video.
The first one is my Bando Killer working correctly. The second one is my LM2 with this issue.
The stack is a Speedybee V2 with 4in1 45A ESC. Smoox 2306.5 motors are connected throught Diatone race wires.
May it be a problem or a symptom of something worst ?

786 That's not too bad TBH. I've seen much worse where you literally have a second of delay between one ESC and another. There is nothing you can really do about it and it's just down to delayed initialisation sequence of some of the ESCs. It's probably hardware design related with capacitors on the ESC delaying power up of some of the ESC MCUs compared to others on the board. As long as the motors all spin normally and quad flies fine after initialisation then it's nothing to worry about.

118 This is probably a hardware issue and the ESC's are not staring up in sync or in other words there is a bit of a delay.
Do they should the same behaviour when connected/not connected to the FC?
I think DSHOT protocol with sync and calibrate the ESCs.
If you arm (without props please) do the motors arm at the same time?

786 I think kafie meant to write "I think DSHOT protocol WILL sync and calibrate the ESCs.", which is correct. It will.
With the DSHOT protocol there is no need to manually calibrate the ESCs because that is done automatically, and in fact I don't believe you can even do manual calibration when using the DSHOT protocol.

118 Yes, DHSOT will automatically sync and calibrate the ESC's.
Only an actual test will be a flight and some blackbox logs to see if there are any issues.

4 You are both right guys, thanks!
As soon as crossfire will be installed (and the weather in Italy will allow) I will do a fast flight test.
By the way, any debug mode to specifically address issues related to ESC sync ?
