esc connects, but nothing after read setup
#1
Hi, I just built my first drone, and I am at a loss on what to do. I flashed latest BF on FC (omnibus f4 v2 pro) but when I go into blheli configurator it connects just fine. Then when I hit read setup it just says read setup finished and nothing else. What could I possibly be doing wrong? I've tried hooking everything up to an extra naze32 board as well same result. ESC are emax blheli 20a thanks in advance.

Sorry, I don't quite understand what you're asking. It connects, reads setup, then what? A screenshot would help

Sorry I'm away from pc. When I hit read setup in log it just says finished. I don't get any options to adjust esc's or flash them.

Ok, I understand

1) Is your Betaflight configurator open but board not connected
2) Are ESCs powered? (battery plugged in)

Betaflight is closed, unplugged usb, replugged, plug in battery, open blheli. Those are steps I have been taking. Is this not right way?

Go to the the top of the screen > Select Atmel / Silabs Interface > then select one of the interfaces. I was having the same issue as you and was able to connect with the (Cleanflight) one even thought I'm using BF.

Open Betaflight and connect USB
Click "connect" in the top-right corner so you're in Betaflight
Now click "disconnect" but don't close Betaflight (but you can minimize it)
Open BLHeli configurator
Connect battery
Click "connect"
Click "read setup"

Main configuration screen should now open up.

If you can't connect to the ESCs after following RENOV8R's instructions then the most likely cause is that the ESCs are not running a recent enough version of BLHeli, or not even running BLHeli at all.

If that's the case, you will need to flash them via the C2 interface pads on the ESC with an Arduino or similar.

I realize this post is old but its exactly what I am experiencing.  When using the BLHeli32 I was able to flash my SpeedyBee 4 in 1 ESC with no issue to the latest.  I saw a post regarding the BLHeli Configurator and thought I would try it since it appears to be a well laid out application.  Unfortunately despite following all recommendation from this thread I can connect with BLHeli32 and modify etc... but when I connect with BLHeli Configurator I select read and nothing appears.  The only other option is Save Debug.  Assuming BLHeli32 works as advertised I am fairly certain that means my ESC support the BLHeli functionality.  Any ideas on why the Configurator will not?  Below is a screen capture, you will note I am connected and reading finished but that is all I see.  I added another capture from BLHeli32 to show you I am not crazy.  Thank you.

AFAIK, the blheli configurator does not support BLheli_32 ESC's: https://github.com/blheli-configurator/b...r#features

Agree, you can't use Blheli configurator on blheli32 esc.

And knowing is half the battle.  Thank you for the clarification.
