4 So I installed a new esc to my quad. Burned one up by trying a little to long to recover out of a tree!
I've wired and rewired this a couple of times and when I plug in the battery I get the start up tone. "do do do" followed by only one long "dooo" instead of two. What does that last missing long tone mean?
Thanks!

72 The last tone signals that the throttle is at zero and the ESC is now armed.
So, you probably need to check calibration.

4 yeah, that's what I thought. I've set calibration through BLHELI suite. I've even tried it thorough TX and motors tab in BF with no luck. Somethings up. Bad esc maybe, even though its brand new. I've even moved it around to different motor outputs on the FC with no luck.

72 Very strange. The first beep after the three initial ones says that it found a recognised throttle signal. You'd think that if it is seeing the throttle signal that there's nothing wrong with the ESC.
If you have a servo tester, you could try testing it with that to eliminate the flight controller from the equation.

4 Yeah its not the FC because the 3 other esc work fine. I've switched around the motor out puts on the FC and they all work. I feel like its one of those times I'm overlooking something but i dont know what?!

74 Maybe double-check motor to esc solder joints?

72 I'm baffled too.
What ESC are we talking about here?

4 This ESC has to be bad. I just plugged it into BLHeli config and it started beeping. "beep beep beep" constant and heating up. New ESC's it is.

72 The quality does appear to be a bit variable with these ESCs. I have them on a GEPRC ZX5 that I built a while back. Just after I'd finished building it, I had it powered up with a battery to set up the OSD (I'd already checked everything else out and calibrated the ESCs).
I walked away to fetch my video receiver/monitor and when I turned back, one of the ESCs was on fire! Once I'd put the fire out, I removed the failed ESC and had a good look at it. The fire had started in one of the ceramic capacitors. So, one second it was working fine and the next second, it was trying to turn my build into a bonfire!
This was one of those moments when I was glad I had ordered five ESCs instead of four.
