ESC 30A recommendation
#1
What is a good 30A ESC, preferably BlHeli and suitable for high KV around 2600-2700? List pro/cons if you can. I am considering UBAD, LittleBee, RotorGeek and KISS, but wondering what you guys think and what else is good.

The littlebee 30 amps are pretty good , worth noting that they are actually quite long and not really suited to 180 sized quads, they fit nice on the 210 and up quads. Performance wise? I will be honest and say I cannot one way or the other say they are mind blowing or rubbish, They just work as most esc's do. even on 4S with 2350kV motors and at times full throttle the esc's did not get hot. would i use them again? YEP!. But I can say in all honesty they are not as good performing as KISS 24 amp with 2800kV motors with 4045 tri blades .

Thanks for the feedback! The frame will be QAV210 or ZMR250 so size should not be an issue. I am thinking about the KISS, I've used the 18A on a build once before and it was ok. One broke a few weeks into it and overall the quad flew very good, but I've had similar success on Luminier and Rotorgeek ESCs. KISS are still somewhat expensive, where LittleBees are cheap, small, easy to solder and update.

I've heard the 30A LB produce voltage spikes, is that the case with UBAD too?

Any ESC with good active braking will produce spikes, including the KISS ESC's... Some ESC has capacitor at the power input to reduce the spikes...
But you should really use LC filter to protect your electronics anyway, don't take any chances Smile

Ha, indeed the XM30A did really good on the RG2700KV test. Thanks. I ordered a batch from Banggood for $15/piece, hope the quality checks out, otherwise seems like a great deal.
