0 Hi all, somehow i've ripped the ufl connector off the pigtail cable. i've replaced it with 2 different ufl-sma pigtail but the link quality becomes unfly-able. i'm trying to find a good replacement, and was wondering if i can just bypass the pigtail and install a direct ufl antenna instead, all the antenna's i see have sma connectors. is there a reason for the pigtail? also
could i possibly fried the tx from running it with no antenna?

118 I think the TX has some damage after being powered on without an antenna.
Having said that the cheap UFL to SMA cables may not be balanced well with regards to impedance and may not perform well.

118 Yes, a TX will burn up fairly quickly if you transmit without an antenna.
Some firmware have protection built in but its not a full proof solution.
