Emax Eco II, $12 Budget motor, how does it hold up in racing?
#1
The new Emax Eco II line appears to improve on almost all aspects of the original Eco series, at $12 it is tremendous value with the aesthetics to match.

In this video, I:
  • Discuss the technical design choices made on the Eco ii
  • Show technical measurements
  • Field test (track racing)
  • Share my findings and conclusions

Let's find out how well it performs!

The spec on Eco II always look impressive. I don't know how they can do it for $12.

Can I just get a one page summary of the differences without watching a 16 minute video? ;-p

I think if bearings are good and motor has quality parts that we end up paying for marketing and fancy colors.

I got some motors on clearance and although name brand was not impressed and poor QC,extremely poor.

EMAX are apparently selling the ECO II motors at a break-even price. I have no idea why they would do that but it explains the ridiculously low price of them for what is clearly a pretty good motor.

Honestly, what other Emax stuff are people buying? Tinyhawks, I guess? The margin can't be very high on those either ...

The ground is for dead people.

I'm still running the original red bottom EMAX RS2205S motors on my 5" after 2 years and they've been bullet proof. I never had to replace a single one of them and the bearings still seem to be as good as the day I fitted them. EMAX clearly know how to make good motors so if these ECO II's are anywhere near as reliable as their predecessors then they're an absolute steal.
