Emax Babyhawk-R: The test
#1

Emax always blew me away with its engines. his stolen cards less. I have taken the step of yet another quad micro buying the Babyhawk-R. I got to the average user up discovering a machine accessible at price but easy to fly.
Correct presentation, the box does not break the house down, but I'm interested is what's inside [Image: 1f609.svg]

For cons, I noticed that version 3p exists and various colors are possible for the canopy. To see in the time! For my part I took the BNF version.

We find in the Babyhawk-R kit:
1x Frame Emax Babyhawk-R 112mm
4x Emax RS1106 6000KV
1x Flight Controller Magnum F3 F3
1x 12A BLheli_S 4 in 1 ESC
4x EMAX AVAN 2 Micro Inch Propeller
1x receiver FrSky
1x mini camera 650TVL
1x 5.8G 40CH 25 / 200mW VTX
1x Manual in English for Babyhawk-R and its components
1x Manual Foxeer micro Cam

Babyhawk-R features:
  • Material of the frame: carbon fiber
  • Wheelbase: 112mm
  • Arm Thickness: 3mm
  • Weight: 82g (without battery)

Electronics:
Flight Controller & ESC: Emax F3 Magnum FC & 12A ESC 4 in 1 mini Flytower
Motors: Emax RS1106 6000KV
Propeller: Emax Avan Micro 2 inches to 4 blades
VTX: 5.8G 40CH 25 / 200mW switchable VTX
Cam FPV: Foxeer Arrow Micro CCD Micro 650D
This is where we laugh a little yellow when we imagine we'll sell a not very right thing. Here the VTX is tipped to follow the curves of the canopy. Putting up connectors, was visually not professional.

Settings:
Cam
The DWDR is not enabled by default. Let the cam manual mode.

The default paths are not good, and we must set things in Betaflight before arming your quad! That's where we are told that a novice will quickly hair pulling.
Ditto for the radio.

I held less than 2 minutes with 30 3s 650mAh Tattu with four-bladed come with.
Limit disappointed I am!

For propellers, I intend to turn a less energy model: Gemfan hulkie 2040-3

To the question: I'm allergic to micro Foxeer and I wish to put my Runcam Sparrow, the answer is no! Not even in dreams cousin! It is too big of a few mm.

Conclusion
Micro Emax Babyhawk-R is not a beginner quad! It must be able to set oneself his FC and radio.
It will monitor the tower F3 mini magnum, because for me, it is not reliable, I had to replace 2 times on another build.
With my crash at the end of the flight, the power system was no longer capable of delivering the necessary voltage to electronics to operate.
The few minutes I was able to enjoy it left me a nice feeling in flight and the grip is nice.
I expect the replacement model.
