Easy accesible camera OSD settings mod
#1
I want to show you guys an easy camera osd settings access mod I got from a norwegian facebook page. The mod is just as simple as making an extension cord for your camera osd cable so you will get access to the settings without disassembling the frame, depending on what setup you got.

First off, the only thing you need for the osd cable to work is the OSD signal cable (white) and ground (black). As you can see on the picture below, I have connected my ground to a spare ground on my micro minimosd.

This is how I mounted my micro minimosd

Next ting is just assemble the whole thing again, and fasten the servoplug wherever it is suited. Mine is placed in the front of the main frame.

As you can see, I used a jst connector and soldered on two cables to it so I didn't have to modify the osd cable that came with the camera. This is a Foxeer camera, But the same should apply for a runcam. I haven't tested it yet, but my guess is that you can use the foxeer osd cable on any HS1177 cameras. If anyone knows for sure, please comment

Nice piggyback mod, I'm considering the same on my next rebuilds.
Find me on Youtube and Instagram. I currently fly: DRC Aura, NOX5R, Minimalist 112 and drive a scrap RC car

This is very nice! Can you make it work with kiss and runcam eagle as well? The eagle has 6 pins for the osd for some reason :p

Eagle requires 5 spare outputs or an external ADC. I can make it work easily, but meeting the requirements to use it can be hard.
