Eachine FPV Google two, a real alternative to the expensive googles on the market
#1

Hi guys,

Having been conquered by the first version (the Eachine Goggle One), we are delighted to test this new exemplaire.01
The goggle one had some flaws that Eachine promised we have improved in this new version.
Either ... we're looking forward to testing this new toy.
I therefore propose to follow with us the progress of the tests performed and I invite you to eventually ask us questions about how we will make every effort to answer your questions as quickly as possible.
Like other items, as we discover features over time, the article is likely to evolve and grow.
Do not hesitate to consult from time to time to see if new things are discovered [Image: 1f609.svg]
One, two, three ... try!
unboxing
Eachine offer a packaging flashy colors with precisely dosed.
It was directly an idea what it looks like, flashy!

On the box there is also a product description ... it will be a good beginning point for comparisons and tests.

Want quick access to eachine site? scan the QR code

We leave everything there is in the box.

View foams delivered with the mask; two textures left to the discretion for your comfort.

A thin foam.

A thicker foam.

On Tour
Seen from above, top!
Unlike the old goggle one, Eachine decided to abandon the plastic shell surrounding the mask.
Good point because in version 1, the plastic is deformed in the sun.
EPP black, light and elegant, wearing red stickers with owl design, the helmet is really nice to look at.
The mask has two antennas because it integrates a 5.8GHz receiver DIVERSITY 40 channels.
The receiver scans the signals received by the two antennas and choose the antenna that has the strongest signal.
A patch antenna to receive a signal ahead, a clover leaf antenna to pick up in all directions but less far forward as the patch.

Left side view, nothing on this side but it was the virgin surface to customize!
To describe a little more, the mask size is about 22cm x 16cm x 11.5cm (16.5cm if you count the pin that is housed on our forehead).

Front view with its stylish logo

Right side view on which we find the control panel and connectors.
We return to this a little further control panel in the article.

View from below, on the front of the mask (such as on top of the mask), the ventilation openings for ventilating electronics.

View of the entrance (I have not glued the foam).
A halfway between our eyes and the screen is a plastic Fresnel lens increasing the size of the image.
Namely, the lens is fixed focus (as on the goggle One), it is not possible to move it to adjust the focal length as a Quanum. Character does not mind me, the image is sharp and clear (on Quanum I always had a blurred image even by moving the lens)

To attach to our head and prevent it from moving, Eachine placed a strap 3 points.
On the back of the head, there is a velcro allowing to place the battery supplied with the mask.

In weight,
It is 345g without battery but with antennas ..
We will add battery 93g, it is still relatively light and not too burdensome to wear even for long sessions of FPV.

Compared to Goggle One, we win more than 50g.

Compared with the goggle ONE, they are the same size.

And on the head what happens?
I played the game, this is what it looks like!

Battery
7.4V 2200mAh battery that comes with the helmet is created by two batteries of 18650 in series.
The 18650 LiPo batteries are high discharge power, it will certainly use it for a long time before needing recharging.
For your information, with this type of battery, one can descend to 3V per cell is a minimum voltage 6Vdc.
This is the new use of these batteries mode, and it is not displeasing to us when we know their characteristics and great autonomy to a suitable weight but also a compact size.

Note that the connector is also compatible with goggle ONE and Fatshark and SkyZone.
The connector is connected to the battery by a bead of 6,5cm.
The positive is to the center of the connector while the negative from the contour of the connector.
So if you need a backup pack cheap and super effective ... we know just find the battery pack here at the store .

The weight is just right and we measured + -93g for dimensions that are 66x36x19mm

To compare with battery Goggle One, here the latter weighing.
To keep in mind: battery Goggle One is of lesser capacity and does not use the same technology.

The charger is also provided, it can charge the battery directly from the mains.
No luck, it is to come with a US plug connectors and therefore not taken in our EU.
It will go through a small converter that unfortunately is not provided (no problem for me I have full hanging around ... collected over time)
US to EU converter is provided outside packaging, it is in the bottom of the package type "trash bag" in which the box was sent. (A big thank you to Alexander Queinnec who told me where to find it)

The specifications of the charger output: 8.4V 1000mA.
Positive at the center of the connector, on the negative contour of the connector.

Note that you can also use it to charge our batteries Fatshark [Image: 1f609.svg]

Antennas
Two antennas are supplied with the mask.
A clover type antenna and a type of patch antenna.
Both antennas are RP-SMA connector.

The coaxial cable that connects the connector to the top of the antenna is 7cm.
It is rigid and in good order.
Its relative strength can fold it into the desired angle and it keeps the given curvature.
Regarding the cloverleaf antenna, it is enclosed in its black case.
By blowing the lid, there is a RHCP antenna type with 4 lobes (leaf) of copper.

The patch antenna is 45x45mm and is announced 6dBi

Menu & Operation
The two antennas are placed on top (instead of no matter).
It connects the battery, there are up to 3 and the mask is started .. a small red LED on the control panel indicates it is based.
Note that unlike the Goggle One, there is no fan noise, it dénéficie passive venting.
Snow appears on the screen 5 inches ... remains to find a video channel feature to display an image.
Quickly pressing the "scan" button and a few seconds later ...

red registration is directly notes that are present in OSD at the bottom of the screen.
Bottom left is the voltage level of the battery.

Bottom right frequency is found (in gigahertz) to which the receiver is stalled.

The picture quality is really excellent, just like its predecessor the one goggle.
An exceptional record, a superb dive, a fine detail, a beautiful color rendering and impressive FOV (78 ° according to the manufacturer)!
I love the FPV masks for exploration in immersion, they can have a nice rendering of detail and make super immersive flights.
Unfortunately their size and weight are often binding factors that I leave the lab.
It is easier to carry around a pair of glasses on immersion with a huge immersion box on head[Image: 1f642.svg]
View the control panel .. what are the buttons?

We will be left to the right for convenience.
1. the red LED that indicates whether the mask is on or not.
On = based, off = off
2. the "scan" button with the triangle drawn, as the name suggests can launch a scan of the videotape to detect a video signal. When a signal is detected by the mask scanning stops.
Unfortunately it does not appear in the OSD progress of the scan and where it is .. we do not know really follow the scan even if we know in advance its transmission frequency ... This n 'displays the frequency of its receiver once the scan is complete.
3. HD / AV button with the drawn round: Change the video source between AV (FPV receiver), AV in (analog video input) and HDMI (digital video input)
4. the "enter" button with the square drawn: enter the menus and validating values.
5. the "+" button: allows mounting in frequency or navigate menus / increase values.
6. the "-" button: to decrease the frequency or navigate menus / decrease values.
7. right at the top is the mini HDMI connector (digital video input to 1080p)
A mini hdmi cable to hdmi is also supplied with the mask.

8. bottom right is the analog connector jack typer.
It allows to connect headphones if you want to take advantage of its OR to receive an analog video input for example to connect another video receiver.
The cable to connect an external analog video source to the earphone jack of the mask is provided in the package.
It is about 14cm long without connectors.

You enter the menus?
Key "square" and "+" "-" to navigate ...
Menu 1: the most used settings!

Menu 2: PAL / NTSC setting and the pages are 5 band receiver!

Menu 3: Display the OSD settings

You do not understand English? no worries, there are translations!

Menu 4: functions.
One can use the 16: 9 or 4: 3 .. everyone will be happy!

Menu 5: Setting the headphone volume.

receipt and comparison testing with other receptors
To test, I did as usual:
Using a small camera Eachine MC01 AIO (which we did the review here ) of 25mW located two floors above, in the lab, I ' I tested various receptors for comparison.

I first tested the Eachine Goggle with Two THAT clover antenna.

I then tested the Eachine Two goggle with THAT Patch antenna pointed in front of her and therefore not pointing the transmitter function.
Note that I have neither black nor blue screen to signal loss.
No antenna, obviously more signal ... but as soon as we replace the antenna on the mask image instantly returns!

I pointed the patch antenna (antenna disconnected clover) in the direction of the transmitter and miracle, a clear picture appears. patch antenna is very directive!

When placing his hand in the antenna field of view patch and bim, the image disappears or diminishes very strongly!
Beware of obstacles with the patch!

I then connected a CT580 (a small super sensitive rx I did the test here ) on the analog video input Two Eachine Goggle mask.
Once you switch on the "AV in" video input I had the image of my external receiver.
The input analog video is well and truly functional unlike Goggle One (I tested the goggle two of the cable on the goggle and one that does not work ... for those who are wondering)

Image that comes from the CT580, external rx connected to Eachnine Goggle Two

Then I connected the Eachine Goggle One to compare.

CONCLUSION tests:
the diversity is very effective and immediately switch on the antenna that receives the best signal without interrupting the video stream. The sensitivity is more than correct and offers slightly better performance in my external receiver already very sensitive -93dB.
It remains to see how it will behave in the field; current winter conditions do not allow me to test out.

Testing the HDMI input
No surprise, it works on top!
The proof image connected to the X-box[Image: 1f600.svg]

Conclusion
If you are looking for a good immersion mask, relatively light, with superb image rendering, the Eachine Goggle TWO is for you.
It surpasses all previously masks I've experienced.
His video receiver sensitivity is very good, the diversity is effective and immediately switches on the antenna that receives the best video signal.
No black / blue screen in case of loss of signal and image reappear immediately when we found a signal of suspicion.
Efficient and cheap it all!
In the present state of affairs, as it is brand new, I do not know how it ages and will act in time ... it remains to be seen but by what it breaks down we will doubtless replaced long ago.
By cons, it offers no DVR and no digital or analog video OUT possible to connect an external DVR or other capture device.
It remains relatively bulky (albeit the fault of all the masks) while maintaining an acceptable weight.

only challange is see they are made of Styrofoam and im a bit worried about their "roughbustness" im not gentle on my gear, my cyclops (plastic hard case) has been squashed few times, prior to that i've used the quanum goggles.

what i like in those you descirbe is diversity - which cyclops lacks.
All the best
