Eachine EV200D the new and massively improved EV100 FPV goggle

Huge thanks to Sandra and BangGood who have agreed to send this item in exchange for this preview article and review.

Introducing the Eachine EV200D FPV Goggles

Follow this link to be alerted when stock arrives - https://goo.gl/uEP5av

The EV200D goggles are the update to the EV100 FPV display system that was first listed on BangGood a few months back. The original inspired many to have mixed feelings over the EV100's limitations, but all agreed that they were a great entry level goggle for the price. These limitations have been truly addressed by Eachine, and the range of functions provided in this new version should bring all those who hesitated to purchase the 1st iteration, to join a queue to get back on board!

There are 2 colours and 2 options to choose from, available in black or white and either with or without 2 diversity RX modules (yes 2 individual diversity modules!) to give 4 receivers in total, so you can choose to save a few $ and easily remove the front canopy to place your 2 diversity RX of choice.

Capable of displaying 2D and 3D images from the AV port, as well as in High Def 1280x720 resolution from the HDMI input, the EV200D is fully future proof as the world moves faster towards 3D imagery becoming the norm!

Images are displayed with an FOV of 42 degrees in either 16:9 or (the default) 4:3, supporting PAL and NTSC formats, the goggles can use your existing 'diopter' lenses offering cross compatibility with those purchased for your Fat Sharks, even the OLED Fat Shark Diversity RX are compatible. The screens can also be adjusted horizontally, with a wide IPD range from 56mm - 72mm.

The EV200D also has a built in DVR to record your flights, fails, and other quadcapades, which you can also play back immediately to help you locate your bird, after that ninja branch so casually smacked it out of the sky! These videos are captured using high quality H.264 codec at 720 x 480px using NTSC and 720 x 576px with PAL, and files are stored automatically, to a class 10 micro SD card, when power is lost. There is also a headphone jack for those who require the fullest immersion when flying.

This version is also fitted with a fan to minimize fogging of the screens in warm weather, it seems like a small thing but it was a common objection found with the original. The EV200D also have a USB input to use an external power source to offer your flight excursions a little more longevity, if the 7.4v 1800mAh battery doesn't last long enough for you, and the USB port also allows for firmware updates.

I have the Eachine Goggles Two, which I have been using for almost a year, I will write my review as a comparison between Eachine's top of the line Box goggle Vs. this their top of the line slimline goggle.

If they keep the price point that they are currently listed at and these goggles deliver everything they promise, Fatshark may as well close shop!

I'm very much looking forward to seeing how these turn out.

I'm a little bit surprised they did away with the adjustable focal length on these. That was a neat feature on the originals. (Even though I do have some prescription diopters - and those can be used with the new goggles.)

I'm still waiting for my replacement EV100's to arrive (first set was lost by FedEx).

I'd forgotten that the EV100 had that feature, funny that it has been overlooked here? I guess the interior is a bit more crowded with all the extra's that these have to offer though?

Yeah really looking forward to these! They are still not 'in stock' yet but as soon as they are, I will post here to let you guys know...

Just FYI guys, I am NOT one of the experienced reviewers who will receive this item prior to general release, so it will be some time after the item is available for order, before I will be able to write my review and share my opinion.

I have been looking at this eachine EV200 goggle, it seems pretty good. But the TopSky F7x v2 goggles launched recently with the most of the issues corrected. I would like to know which one is better, EV200 goggles or F7X V2? I'm not racer Rick, just want to buy a good set of goggles.

The EV200D are still not available yet, and I have't tried the topsky, so I cant give an informed opinion, from the specs, the topsky do not come with diversity VRX, but one can be purchased separately, they do have an optional head tracker that the EV200D does not, but the EV200D have 2 diversity modules included, and are $50 cheaper. Seems to be the main difference, otherwise specs are very similar.

I came across a video of f7x v2 review, it says everything is fixed, and now it's compatible with the diversity receive modules. But you're right, the EV200 is $50 cheaper than f7x v2, that looks good.

Also waiting on some reviews! This might just become my first proper set of goggles. Would like to see a comparison with the Aomway as they are in the same price range.

I just watched a detailed look at the differences between the F7X V1 and V2 in a YT video by SeeByDocky, and yes most of the issues have been addressed, however, (apparently) the 'ghost' effect will always be evident due to these goggles using mirrors to see the screens which are not actually in front of the lenses?

Also the product page of the EV200D has been updated to show 'under restocking' so it shouldn't be too long before these are available to order...

They don't use mirrors.

The display modules are what's called LCOS or Liquid Crystal On Silicon displays. They are essentially monochrome displays. To make a colour image, they triple the update rate to the displays and then cycle the lighting behind the display between red, green and blue showing each frame three times and creating the illusion of colour using the slow response speed of your eyes to integrate the three frames into one colour image.

Thanks for clearing that up mate, I obviously lost something in the Fronglish translation, hence the use of the question mark!
