I had a couple of these arrive this morning, some comparison pictures included for your pleasure.

Only 200mw, non-switchable and I hadn't realised they are RP-SMA too but other than that, I'm looking forward to testing these out at the weekend.

FIY:
If you replace the small resistor on top of the aomway, the one between the connector and the three holes, with a micro switch, it will become 25mW/200mW switchable

Yes I know, I run all Aomway VTX's at the moment (great value and never had a single issue) and that one is kept at 25mw for a quick swap out if I need it. I'm still running my original 200mw fixed Aomways but I just can't seem to find a reason to replace them, although you can see I keep trying new ones :p

I had an aomway, but it broke my first flight. I didn't secure my antenna well enough, so a upside down landing bent the antenna resulting in the middle solder pad for the connector loosened so unfortunately it is useless now Sad

From my experience, the connector on the aomway is easier to break loose than the eachine

That's interesting, I've heard a lot of stories (or at least read online) of people breaking SMA connectors off their VTX's, not specific to Aomway but in general.

The VTX is probably the only item I've never broken on my quads over the last couple of years. I learnt to mount them a certain way (right or wrong) which I believe has saved me in the many crashes I've had. I must have bought these two Aomway 200mw VTX's 18 months ago, and again the only item that's survived through rebuilds and new builds.

1. I mount the antenna horizontal from the top plate, sticking out of the back and bending upwards. I rarely land on the tail end of the quad and if I did the arms would protect the antenna.

2. I fix the VTX to the top plate by the SMA connector, so effectively one tie tag around the SMA connector and one or two around the antenna with the VTX effectively dangling although I'll use a single lower strength tie tag loosely around the VTX.

I normally use the same method, but this particular time the aomway was mounted quick and dirty with double sided tape and cable ties to the top plate and the sma connector sticking out of the back for testing purposes.

Have you had problems with a VTX that it looks like it looses output power but still works? My Eachine ET600R is acting like the signal has become weaker with time and it looks like my ET200R has better coverage than the 600mW now. 

I also got a FX795T switchable 25mW/600mW and the signal is the same weak signal whatever I choose. Before, the 600mW was much better than the 25mW, but now it is the same.

Oyvinla, I've not had that specific problem but when trying different VTX's I notice they don't all perform the same, 200mw on Aomway seems to be stronger than say 200mw on TBS Unify. I've not found a better combination in terms of balancing power consumption and video quality. The TBS Unify Pro set at 400mw would knock a minute off my flight time and no noticeable benefit over the Aomway 200mw in terms of signal.

I know "hpiguy" has done some testing using the ImmersionRC signal tester thingy so might be worth checking out his YouTube videos. I vaguely remember him finding that the Aomway 200mw was in fact pushing nearly 500mw Smile

sloscotty, I by no means suggest this is best practice but it has been perfect for me, worst crashes I'll snap a tie tag, usually the furthest one back. You might be able to see that I put a small amount of foam under the SMA and under the backend of the VTX, this helps to provide some cushioning but also seems to prevent the SMA from unscrewing.

Does the switch actually even work or is it stuck in the 25 mW position? Should check with a multimeter.

Thanks, I'll check out his videos. 

That is the same way I mount mine, except i normally mount the heatsink side up. Maybe that could be a reason why my VTXs get degraded

Mounting downwards works better on the QAV210 as I can access the channel DIP switches from above and my theory being that the air flow through the frame will help the VTX stay cool. However I have mounted the Aomway heatsink up on the Alien (as it was a better fit, and no slots on the top to provide DIP switch access) but I'm not sure if that's not going to cost me later, in terms of overheating.

You can test signal output with a multimeter?? educate me please!

I think what he ment was testing if the switch I installed was working with the multimeter
