Eachine Blackwing

Who has not dreamed of a small machine to carry around? Leave it in the trunk of the car and enjoying his midday time to go fly.
This is my case, I was even offered a small radio prize, the FS-FlySky i6x left in my trunk without fear of damaging it with my old Fatshark, more receptors cost nothing.

I took once the PNP version gain some time and see the quality of the proposed equipment. Usually I prefer to ride myself, but given the price difference compared to the set, I did not take too much risk.
Package Contents
  • 2 half-wings in black COOL equipped 9g servo

  • 2 winglets

  • Fuselage with a Racerstar 1806 KV2400 motor and esc Hobbywing 12A

  • Rush of carbon which serve to strengthen the wing

  • 4141 propeller

  • spare screed

  • HD camera Support see

  • Cover for those who will not want to put the HD camera

  • Plate of stickers

They have not trodden for shipments ... but arrived in good condition. Each element is placed in the other boxes.
Features
  • Span: 68 cm

  • Length: 35 cm

  • Flying Weight order:
Configuration
I left the original equipment initially.
For FPV equipment:
• Camera HS1177
• VTx Eachine TX526
• Runcam 2for filming flights
As receiver I used a small Flysky X6B that to the advantage of PWM with a small modification of the wiring to be able to plug the servos (if necessary I can do a little tutorial).
Battery level, stay on a light configuration so it will be a 3S 1300mAh. It certainly will enter 4S but I will put it another esc.

Mounting
Having little time, I turned to cyanoacrylate glue + accelerator.
Do not forget to lightly sand the surfaces to be bonded and the carbon rush.
I did not encounter any particular problems, although the adjustment of the two half wings to the fuselage is not aligned with the seat excesses, but that does not stop them to keep well.
For the camera, I dug into the material for the house and to place my VTx.

I preferred to stick the little "hood" with the rest of the fuselage.

Concerning clearance for the propeller, I think planing some foam ...

In less than two hours she was ready to fly.
First flight
All 2400kV 1806, the small propeller 4.1 × 4.1 and the rear fuselage which is predominantly made me a little scared.
When launched in his element, I had remained full gas for the duration of the flight. Being accustomed to faster machines, I struggled because it's slow.
The wing is stable but the lack of power is too feel, some changes will do.

Part 1 Changes
Add enough to circulate air in the fuselage. My VTx is cooled to a small aluminum radiator, so no worries for him, but Sqn being inside is not jojo for him.
You can download a small vent style NACA here.
Resize some protuberances of the fuselage to allow the propeller bite slightly more air.
After some consumer testing, I went on a larger propeller, it flies better already, but this is not a machine that advance. The ESC is limited for my type of flight and therefore much warmer.
Part 2 Amendments
Adept speed and even if this profile with high camber favors more stable flight very fast, I went to a SunnySky x2204 2300kV engine that I had in my stock.
ESC Level I put a 20A and a propeller BN 5040.
I have not yet tested in flight, it already progresses more, that's for sure, it's a config that I use on the small X1 600mm wingspan.
useful Links Balance sheet
What I liked :
  • The price (and again)

  • The assembly speed
What I liked least:
  • The base config is for me anemic

  • No air circulation in the fuselage without some changes
It's a bit of a review in a hurry (though I started late August, I move on to other wings because it does not motivated me), I have not found time to give it a second chance, I see that some are happy, so it motivates me to go further with, even change a little more (more carve the fuselage).
In short if you want to fly fast, go your way, take eachine fury that strong march PNP (review here) or the Sonicmodel F1.
I will return to this article in the spring, the winter will help me prepare my wings for the good season and she too will pass.

Oh my, that looks like fun! I was originally looking at building a smallish FPV glider before stepping in the quadcopter realm. This looks like a nice way to start!
SoCal Kaity :D
OMG, no one told me it would be this much fun!  Addicted :)

I'm not sure that this model will be a good strat in the fpv wing world,
