Eachine BAT QX105
#1
I had the great pleasure to test Eachine BAT QX105.
The first thing in the sys out of the pack is the size of the engines.
They are thicker and stronger. By what they eat battery a little faster.
Included are 2 battery. I would recommend to stock up on more batteries.
Build quality is at a high level.
Motors are protected against shocks in a plastic cover.
FPV camera is also very well protected.
Buzzer and LEDs are in place.
The first flights:
We have OSD! You can see, range, flight time, the battery voltage and level,
Already I can confidently say that the guards at the motors in very handy and are durable.
Propellers - bend and do not break so another plus.
This small Kwad is very fast!

Pros:
- Protected camera FPV
- Shielded, powerful engines!
- Propeller durable shatterproof
- Speed !  Heart

Minuses:
none  Whistling

I wanted to thank you for your review. Very informative especially as almost no site has actually reviewed this quad yet. After also asking AndyRC at Youtube he said I should be very happy with this quad. I may have to learn to fly outdoors first but once I got the hang of it I should be able to move indoors just fine since I will not be able to pick up another quad for a while once I get this one. So I rather get one with OSD as I believe it will prove very useful as a beginner in making sure I land before I run battery down.

Based on my obsessive research and reading of various things on the interwebs... I decided this it the quad I'll start with (technically my second, but really is my first FPV)... This review talked me into it.

Key features that hit it off for me:
Affordable micro
Eachine makes affordable stuff that I can easily replace parts with as I destroy this thing making noob mistakes
OSD=++++++
It seems to have a configurable flight controller (this is critical since I've been spending about a month with sims now tweaking rates and expo)
Strong motors sound like a good thing for what I am interested in doing. I watched the following review on it as well:
with the only downside he could name (other than wanting to go fast) I am pretty sure I'll be OK on failsafe.

Great review! Hopefully my experience will work out. I look forward to my first legit FPV flight. I'll post my followup here.

Mine arrived and it's dead already.

I had some issues with props falling off at first, then after a crash into a tree the connectors for one of the motors has come off, and when I run it I smell electrical burning...

I either have a defective bat, or it's WAY too fragile for noobs... I am not sure which.

I am very disappointed.

Probably DOA.  Let's see I have crashed it into a metal garbage can thought I put a dent in the can I hit it that hard, hit the railing on porch, ran it into garage door, bare tree limb, and a few times on the ground.  There is a tendency for the props though to come off probably from it's spinning so fast and nothing to hold them on so I recommend a bit of fingernail polish or that on them.  Second thing I notice one or two motors fit a bit loose in the motor compartment as it is just a press fitting so what I did was put a small bit of scotch tape on them motors and it has remained in the motor mount quite well.

One thing I did being new to flying a drone like this is turn down the settings in Betaflight so that it is not so sensiitive as before I could not even move stick a bit in any direction before it was flying off at full speed into some object on me.

Second thing is if you are using Flysky version at least the Fail Safe is broken!  How can they not make a working fail safe?  It lost connection with the receiver and instead of shutting off it started to take off!  I quick re-initiated the controller and got control back but that is very dangerous and is a major defect that needs to be fixed by Eachine!  Without a fail safe this thing should have never been sold!  This needs to be fixed by Eachine immediately and they should provide a working controller to all of us that have purchased this.  I had almost sliced my hand up good thing the spare props were not the hard plastic the originals were or my hand would of been cut.

Other than this MAJOR FLAW that needs fixing I really enjoy the drone as it will very easy to replace motor as required as it's just plugged in.

Good to know, I'll try getting in touch with someone before frankenstiening it. Thanks for the advice on the settings too, I hadn't considered that and I might try it when I either get this one going again or I get a new one.

Dear All,
I am a new comer in this hobby, I fly Helicoptor before.
I have brought QX105 Frsky version, and using my existing Futaba FF9 CHP controller, may I have your advice what mixing should be applied? I tried mixing AER to throttle and no luck, stand alone every control also no help. When i push throttle to around 40~50%, the motors will all turned on and at full speed, direction also seems not correct, it will roll forward 360 degree and droped.
But I just found I can hover it stable in betaflight animation (PID Tab).

Thanks
Regards,
Dick
