DYS 5040 Tri-blade Propellers
#1
has anyone tried these DYS 5040x3 props?

I stumbled upon them the other day and i am wondering how they stand against other props like DAL and Diatone mini quad props performance and durability wise.

They are fantastic, I've switched over my 5" tri's to these props now.

I find I get similar thrust to the HQ 5045 bullnose 3 blades but its a lot more responsive and smooth. The efficiency is a lot better with these DYS props as well since its only 40 pitch and regular tip. You will be very happy with them, great pricing as well.

Do they bend back like the kingkong props? Judging only by the looks of them, they look like they are the three bladed version of those kingkong from banggood.

The DYS 5040x3 are flexible like the kingKong, but the front edge will get dings and dents. they don't break like DALs. good thrust too

I noticed the kingKong props aren't balanced well, these DYS barely need balancing. Both of them get stress crease like Gemfans if they get bent too far.

I had done a quick full throttle thrust test of the 4040x3 (I will update 5040x3 when I have a chance), some less thrust, but more efficient:
DAL 4045BN Tri
700g/18.3A

DYS 4040BN Tri
635g/14.2A

DAL 4045J Tri
510g/10.3A

I'll let you know tomorrow Tongue

I'm actually on HQ5045BN with my Cobras 2100kv Racing Edition. Hope they perform the same with a bit more efficency.

They are DYS 5040x3 from Hobbyking, from the reviews and tests they should perform equal to the HQ, but they comes at half the price or even low... The DAL T5045BN v2 three blades are coming soon from Surveilzone, I've read that on 2100kv the thrust on them should be over 1kg and around 23A current. Can't wait to test them too.
Tomorrow I'll switch to DYS from the HQ5045BN, I'll let you know how they perform on my 2100kv...

After a run in the woods I can say they are really good for bashing and racing, I was able to recover my quad when I hit some hanging branches, without crashing to the ground and not losing any prop.

They bend a lot.

I think they have a little less punch than the HQ5045BN on my Cobra 2206 2100kv (also my friend has reported the same on his Cobra 2300kv), it seems I have to give more throttle, but I didn't test them at full speed as I was not racing in an open field.

Anyway, for that price, I think they are great.

Can't wait for the DAL T5045BN v2 three blades. Tongue
