As you can see in my old thread my Martian II frame died so i replaced it with an DQUAD LXR. I also have a new VTX, it's a TRAMP HV V2 since my chinese one from before spread across Multiple Channels. So here is a bunch of pictures of the old smashed frame and the new one. Overall I really loved the style of the Martian II but the frame had waaaay too much unused space. As you can see, everything is now pretty cramped in there, but i like it that way. Below the new frame you can see the baseplate of the old one I like turtles Posts: 1,590 Threads: 89 Likes Received: 1,283 in 768 posts Likes Given: 1,274 Joined: Jan 2017 Reputation: 31 The Martian II does seem like it's got too much space... that's what drove me to the Martian III, more compact design. New frame looks good though! carl.vegas Current Quads: Operational: Diatone GT2 200 In need of repair: Bumble Bee, tehStein, Slightly modified Vortex 250 • Posts: 125 Threads: 12 Likes Received: 86 in 45 posts Likes Given: 52 Joined: Jan 2017 Reputation: 8 Yeah I was thinking about getting the Martian III but it's not exactly the style for a frame that I was looking for. Right now I am waiting for my replacement ESCs since 3 of mine died during the submarine test Tried to repair one yesterday and it blew up xD I like turtles Posts: 1,504 Threads: 83 Likes Received: 944 in 654 posts Likes Given: 2,142 Joined: Sep 2016 Reputation: 24 (06-Jul-2017, 06:08 AM)Apicalis Wrote: Right now I am waiting for my replacement ESCs since 3 of mine died during the submarine test Well you do like turtles! Then again rain gets on the camera so it's hard to see anyway carl.vegas Current Quads: Operational: Diatone GT2 200 In need of repair: Bumble Bee, tehStein, Slightly modified Vortex 250 • Posts: 125 Threads: 12 Likes Received: 86 in 45 posts Likes Given: 52 Joined: Jan 2017 Reputation: 8 I am waterproofing mine in the building process with liquid rubber/spray rubber I like turtles Posts: 2,410 Threads: 136 Likes Received: 1,790 in 1,052 posts Likes Given: 3,302 Joined: Jan 2017 Reputation: 50 Looks great Apicalis! • Posts: 125 Threads: 12 Likes Received: 86 in 45 posts Likes Given: 52 Joined: Jan 2017 Reputation: 8 Posts: 2,286 Threads: 38 Likes Received: 1,527 in 995 posts Likes Given: 1,881 Joined: Apr 2016 Reputation: 72 I guess you didn't want the barometer to work afterwards? • Posts: 1,590 Threads: 89 Likes Received: 1,283 in 768 posts Likes Given: 1,274 Joined: Jan 2017 Reputation: 31 12-Jul-2017, 11:07 AM (This post was last modified: 12-Jul-2017, 11:10 AM by Carl.Vegas.) There may come some point in the near future where betaflight comes up with some amazing self tuning routine that uses the barometer to figure out how thick the air is and adjust how the pid loop responds accordingly and it becomes the hottest new thing. So I can see the idea of preserving for the sake of future proofing. carl.vegas Current Quads: Operational: Diatone GT2 200 In need of repair: Bumble Bee, tehStein, Slightly modified Vortex 250 Posts: 125 Threads: 12 Likes Received: 86 in 45 posts Likes Given: 52 Joined: Jan 2017 Reputation: 8 Hahaha totally forgot about that! xD Good point man, but I will change the FC in the next months anyway. So far I didn't really have time to setup everything. I added a new ESC but Motor still doesn't work. Gotta check for winding shorts or if the PDB has some sort of short. I was able to get it via Amazon Prime Long range shipping since all the german stores were out of stock. I am super hyped about the setup since I don't need the minim OSD and a lot of wiring anymore. This will make the setup even cleaner. WOOOP WOOOP I like turtles |
