0 So I'm just getting into the hobby. Will eventually get into the fpv side but budget and wife have me learning LOS right now. Came across a deal for some dominator V1s for around 100 bucks, comes with a few other bits and pieces. I know they are a fairly old model, but is this worth it? Or should I wait and save up? Appreciate the input!

72 Only if your pupils are spaced 63.5mm apart. There is no adjustment on the Dom V1s.
They are 640x480 resolution though with a 30 degree field of view, which makes them perfectly good for 4:3 cameras.
For $100, I'd say they're a steal!

31 If you want to stay at that price range but still get into FPV and can put up with the extra bulk there are a few of the box-style goggles out there at that price range that are pretty great.
As for if the v1s are good or not you'll have to take unseen and others' advice on that. I do appreciate the compactness of mine but they are newer and are able to adjust the IPDs which have come in handy (I am not sure if it's my IPD or my friends but when I've let him use mine we have to adjust.)

72 My first goggles were the Fatshark Predator V2s which don't allow you to adjust the IPD either. I always found them a strain to use as the fixed IPD didn't quite match my eyes.
Now I've moved on to some Skyzone SKY02S goggles with adjustable IPD and I really like them! Once adjusted, there's no eye strain at all and the image is so much clearer and sharper.
One big advantage with real goggles instead of a box style display is that if you're getting on a bit like I am and need reading glasses for close up stuff, you won't need them with Fatshark/Skyzone goggles as the virtual screen is a couple of metres away from your eyes. With the box style goggles, if you need reading glasses, you may well also need to use them with the box and none of them are really designed to allow wearing glasses at the same time.

2 np15517,
If budget is what you need, go for box-style goggles. The only real downside to them is portability. I love my Fatsharks, but the tech is not worth what you pay. If I was on a tight budget and bought them, I would feel ripped off probably.
