Heya, beloved forum!
My time-schedule keeps me busy, but please believe me when I say that I'm putting real efforts into posting something, before falling asleep on my keyboard 
This time it's from Cairo, Egypt,
where everybody told me NOT TO, starting from the officials at the airport (..whom I told that it was a line-cam, really, not a "drone"!), over my colleagues and friends, down to the police and army. Now if THAT isn't motivating!
Down with mental frontiers!

The Mavic really is a cool little machine!

I'm not familiar with the Mavic. Are you flying FPV, or using GPS and waypoints or something? Sure is steady footage!

 It is, it is..
except for the "evil-empire-firmware-updates" which are compulsory, and if you're unlucky enough not to have inet-connection, you can't fly..
form factor is crucial, though: Since it's so small folded up, you actually take it along. Otherwise you'd find thousands of reasons (..*oh, some other time..) NOT to take along your, say, phantom. It's sort of disguised in its folded state, too - at least for officials ;-)

fpv over an ipad mini connected to the tx, which is really nifty & small too! it's sort of a "guerilla-cam-quad", no acro, but has a gimbal stabilized, ridiculously small 4K-cam in the front + gps and lots of sensors (..which i usually switch off altogether, since they wouldn't let me take off or land in the spots I usually fly). Managed to land that thing at night against the wind (up to 50km/h) on a moving cruiseship on the nile, I'll link to the footage..
It's the other side of the fpv-thang..
Racequads are way more sexy, though..
DJI is about the pictures (great too! long shutter 100 ISO blue-hour shots..) & movies,
racequads about flying itself. I sort of enjoy both, and soon will be trying to combine them: Film a quad from the air, trying not to crash into each other..

you should have brought your race quad and freestyle there

I'll have a look at these videos a bit later, but it's a brave man who breaks the law in a country like Egypt!
