DJ-105 - 1304/F4/XSR
#1
Finally got around to building up my DJ-105 - it's just PLA at the moment, but will be printing it out with Taulman 910 once I finish my Anet A6 enclosure...

Easy build compared to a RS90 and using the below components - just waiting on the FPV Tx to turn up:

1 x Mini ACRO F4 Betaflight Flight Controller Buil-in PDB 5V/1A BEC with Micro Buzzer
1x FrSky XSR (de-pinned)
4x RCX H1304 4000KV Multirotor Brushless Motors
4x Racerstar RS20A V2 20A Blheli_S OPTO 2-4S ESC
4x Racerstar 2530 R-DD65X3 65mm 3 Blade Propeller 1.5mm Mounting Hole
1x 700TVL 1/4 Cmos 1.8mm 170 Degree FPV Camera NTSC/PAL 3.7-5V
1x Eachine VTX01 Super Mini 5.8G 40CH 25mW FPV Transmitter
Will be running 2S and 3S NanoTech 450mAh batteries

Having a slight issue in that the quad flips as soon as power is applied - I've treble checked the motor wire numbering, motor and prop direction as well as the inversion of the FC in BetaFlight 3.1 (making sure to re-run the calibration).

Anything else that I haven't checked/thought of please?

Did you spin up the motors using betaflight to quadruple check the motor numbering by spinning one motors at a time and confirming layout?

I just went through this and couldn't believe that I swapped two of the motors which masked the issue as the prop direction seemed fine.

If you plan on putting a camera on there .... and even if you don't - the versions of those props that I got had the prop hole mounted off center they vibrated like CRAZY. Sad

Yep, checked in the Betaflight motor tab - I had to swap the connections as 1 & 3 were wrong...

Thanks for the heads up on the props, I've been waiting 2 months for the Furiousfpv.com quad blades to arrive in the UK and these are the backups! Didn't think they looked that brilliant Wink

Bit of an update on this - finally have the 2535 props from FuriousFPV and have blown up two Eachine VTX01 FPV transmitters (copious amounts of hot glue on this one to preserve it!).

It's pretty lively on 2S and mental on 3S  Cool

AUW with the 3S 450mAh Nano-tech is 164g, 2S 450mAh Nano-tech is 150g and 123g dry - on to the pics!

Really happy with how it's turned out - still need to get the frame printed in Nylon...

Ugh. Ya big jerk ... making me want to build on of these ....

Are you just ripping the antenna off the vtx01 and toasting it? My VTX03 will annihilate hot glue even on 50mw. Even my 25mw tinywhoop cameras will melt hot glue Sad

Sorrreeee! (not)  Tongue

Nope, one of the components sheared off and all worked except for the video signal  Poop and then on my other one I managed to destroy the video in trace when soldering with a too hot iron...

I'm hoping that the props will cool the VTX sufficiently to keep the hot glue solid!

Thanks DroneOfPrey!

OK - so I had a fiddle today and made up a series and parallel adaptor along with heat shrinking a couple of 2S 450mAh 65-130C Nano-techs together.

In parallel, it was pants with too much weight for severe punch outs (but it did go for a long time) and in series it was pretty pants, as the FuriousFPV quad blade props sounded like they were tearing air and not going anywhere at full throttle!

Think with a more agressive dual blade prop it should work better, the motors were getting pretty hot too?

If the motors are already getting hot, all more aggressive props will do is make the motors get even more hot!

I think you've hit the limits of what these motors are capable of.

Well, got this in the air yesterday too on 2S.

Had a few nice flights and thought - let's go for some 3S! Then promptly broke the frame on take off...

Did manage to get this video though earlier on

Awe Sad That's too bad. Well the power train is so versatile - I'm sure you'll find something fun for it Smile

I just made a stretchy frame (plan on ordering in carbon eventually). I was planning on giving 1104's a try - I'm sure the 1304's will rip.

Another decent afternoon so out with the 3S batteries on this outing!

Boy seems to be more interested in 'Dad's toys' so he had a go on my old Blade Glimpse at the same time.
