Yep, just did this DIY CNC last month.
I have an imprecision of 0.2mm at the center, especially when it cut hard stuff, as CF 6K. But for quad frame it's enough, so I can break arms, I'll cut spare ones. And on the side of my cutting-area, it's nightmare for the accuracy. A little explanation can be found on my blog. Soon I'll list mistakes to avoid.

I flew this week like 10 packs, crashed a lot on grass ground, nothing break. But a little bit heavy, when I'll get better flying LOS skills, I'll fly 4S for sure. I'm on blheli 20A oneshot and the 9$ sunnysky 2205 2300 surveillezone, maybe not the best set, but enough powerfull the first 2 min of pack.

Looks good! What are you using to stick the carbon fibre down?

Simply double sided thin clear tape (on the video) + duck tape on the edge. Not moving at all Smile

A few more questions, if you don't mind answering...

- Where are you getting your carbon?
- What bits are you using?

Further details, check my article on OscarLiang.com https://oscarliang.com/diy-cnc-machine-m...tor-frame/
I bought CF here: http://www.protechcomposites.com/matte-f...x-4-3-1mm/
Using cheap banggood bit: http://www.banggood.com/Drillpro-10pcs-1...78460.html
Bits are cheap, alreay 3 frames cut and it sart to be used. So, working on hard 6K CF only few time. Consider getting true bit.

I'm sorry but I cannot provide a  A to Z.
It tooks me maybe 2 months in spare time learning how to, you can do it too Smile
Yes I can share my 3d file for the CNC structure (but they are not bluprint at all)
I found many inspirations onto internet, I'll share some in a few days here.
I wrote some detials on my blog too. http://drones-xp.blogspot.ca/

Here's my second frame cut with my DIY-less-accurate-CNC Smile
Still doing the job, really happy to get a frame lowprofile that protect a little more the sport-cam. Frame with fastener and sport-cam mount is around 128g. Little heavy but actually it worth it for the flying freestyle that I'm doing.

Yes I could, why not Smile
The only problem with brushed motor, is I cannot garanty to deliver exact 8.5mm diameter holes, accuracy of 0.2mm to 0.4mm, so the mounting should be with some rubber or other. If you have some idea, PM me Smile

or you can maybe 3D print the motor mounts? Smile
some 2mm CF sheet would be enough

I was following along on the writeup you posted, but I am not sure about the linear rail shaft supports, what size should they be? The link you have listed gives the option for 8mm, 10mm, 12mm and 16mm. Also, are all 12 the same size?

I used 10mm for X and Y and 8mm for Z.
10mm is not enough, it bends. Best things are "square" railing for something that get some push on it. Tubing like that are for 3d printer. I did a mistake with this build unfortunately.

these should be tougher(links as references only)
