Disarms on impact
#1
Hi All

I've noticed strange behaviour, it's been there for a while.

My quad disarms on impacts. It can be a twig, bouncing of the ground or a serious crash, I don't see a pattern. Another time I might cut through those twigs no issues. It's very random.

It's a DJI airunit, DJI controller. HGLRC f7 FC with T-Motor Velox V45A V2 4in1 ESC. 2207 2750 xings

diff all, dump all and blackbox below

any feedback would be much apricated

If the cause is not related to any loose connections then it’s probably the FC trying to avoid any flyaways once its discovers its unable to control the quad on its set course.

Its not uncommon for me to have a quad disarm on hard impact especially if the motors get stuck. I prefer this to avoid any catastrophic damage to the quad or objects it is in contact with.

Yes I don't mind this happening on hard crashes to preserve the drone. It is really annoying though when it's just a touch of a twig for example, especially in a risky longish range situations.

Anyways I'd like to know if there's a way of tweaking/disabling  it

I think first you have to ensure all connections are mechanically tight.

Firmware wise there is no specific setting to control a disarm or failsafe.

A disarm or failsafe can be due to several things the flight controller assumes to be unusual, this can be a gyro issue, or a motor hitting 100% for too long, an rxloss event, etc.

Do you have a video of such an event you can share so we can see what has actually happened?

i would suggest additional to check your modestab and adjust the range of the armswitch, maybe its about signal jittering from electrical noise. "throttle" would come as betaflight warning than.
