Difference in LHCP and RHCP antenna
#1
What is the difference between LHCP and RHCP Circular Polarized Omni antenna?
What happen if we mix them? I don't want to buy wrong one.

LHCP receives signal in a different way than the other.
If you buy RHCP antenna for your VTX and you have LHCP on your VRX it won't work well so you need both the same.
If you have all RHCP just keep buying them if not the it doesnt really matter just make sure you remember the way all the rest you have are so you dont end up having so many rhcp and so many lhcp .

It means "Right Hand Circular Polarized" and "Left Hand Circular Polarized".

Basically you could use any antenna you can mix them in your setup, it doesn't matter wheather Right hand or left hand really if you're flying alone. But we use circular polarized antennas on miniquads because of many angle changes and to keep video interference at a minimum level.

When flying with other people, just make sure you use the same on vtx and vrx. When many pilots are flying signals can be even better separated when using LHCP and RHCP setups. LHCP can reject RHCP signals and vice versa.

Easy way to tell. One is usually blue and the other is green...

Look at your antenna from the connector side. If lobes turn left, its LHCP, if right - RHCP. You'll have the best signal while using the same type on both sides and it does matter if you are flying alone - but the difference appears only behind obstacles etc. If flying with someone, having different direction than other pilot helps, but is not mandatory.
Find me on Youtube and Instagram. I currently fly: DRC Aura, NOX5R, Minimalist 112 and drive a scrap RC car

having them mixed doesn't kill you, just reduces the range...
im now flying on one rhcp and second is lhcp... and i still can fly .. yes more noise .. but if you only have this antena... you will live and fly Smile
All the best

Curently flyable: Nox 5, Minimalist 112
