Diatone 160 Sunday Funday
#1
Video
Another Sunday Funday Video.

Today I realized a few things.

1)  My nighthawk 280 feels really slow and I actually don't like flying it anymore.  Do you guys think I'll blow the integrated esc's if I run 4s on it with 6045 props?

2) 160 size quads are awesome!!

3)  I actually need some advice here.  When I throttle up to 100%, I noticed that my thumbs are not pushing straight up.  You can see it on the overlay of the sticks.  I'm wondering about a few things.
  • Maybe my fingers are too short to push the throttle up straight or I just need practice.
  • Is there a way for me to set 100% throttle when I'm pushing the stick up to about 75%?
  • Does anyone else run into this issue or have any recommendations?
4) It's not visible on this video, but on my last pack I was flying even more aggressive with very sharp turns and hard acceleration out of the turns.  I noticed the quad was oscillating a little bit on very hard / sharp turns (Next time I'll try to capture it with the blackbox).  Anyone know what might be causing the oscillations?

To your question about thumb control, i think it might be just your hands aren't holding the TX the right way?
Try to move your holding hands up towards the top of the TX a little, so your thumb can reach the top half of the gimbal easier...
if you have simulator you can try to practice your throttle control a bit more maybe...

from the video it does look like you quad need a bit more tuning, upload your Blackbox log and we can have a look maybe if you want.

Some Blackbox diagnosis would be great.  I barely know what to look for.  Let me know what you think I can adjust.  I think holding the TX higher up helps with the throttling up. Smile

thanks, just checked your Blackbox log:

Roll: P and D are both too high reduce P by 20%, and D by 40% and check the BB log again
Pitch: Same as Roll, do the same here for pitch
Yaw is fine for now.

Awesome, I'll try it out. What kind of stuff should I look for in the black box. How did you figure I should reduce by 20%?

just guesses... i don't know your original PID values... so... we will see how it improves in the next bb log
search for "PID tuning blackbox" on my blog i also explain how I tune my PID there..
