Dark bands in my screen.
#1
Hi guys

My 2.5" quad, built with a GEPRC Phantom frame is wired as follows:

Sorry for the analogic representation, but actually this is my first analogic built  Big Grin

However, the problem is that the image in my goggles is perfect until CRSF connects. When CRSF connects, three fixed horizontal darker bands appears. One is just below the middle of the screen, the other two in the upper half. Here are some pictures of the quad.

An finally the bands:

Any help ? Anything I can try to troubleshoot the issue ?

If you need some inspiration then checkout this post I did: https://intofpv.com/t-tbs-fpvcycle-mini-...a-bad-idea

If you hold the camera mounting screws, or a ground pad (please be careful) or hold both the antenna tubes with your hands do the lines disappear? Or try taking out the antenna from the antenna tubes and keep them as horizontal as you can (away from the carbon and other electronics)?

I would also suggest you try another crossfire antenna (not necessarily an immortal T as even the stock antenna works).

Best of luck because I almost gave up on the lines my Crossfire was producing in the FPV feed and only after a few months I found what the cause was and what the solution is on my build.

Thank you for your help! It's very interesting!

So you solved by changing the minimortal with a standard immortal-T ?

This evening I will try touching everything you listed in your message!

Yes, the stock dipole antenna fixed my video bands.

I did some test and the only thing that seems to make the band disappear is touching both pipes of the antenna. (To tell the truth the band is still barely visible but definitely acceptable). What does it mean ?

Changing antenna and moving away from carbon and electronics seems not to help

i would add a immortal t or the naked one, right in the middle of the frame, the active parts between the arms.
it would help about distance to the vtx antenna, i believe in interferences between them. touching and a better signal sounds like that.

it looks very nice and clean, many mount it this way, even placing a gps on the same place, but overlapping antennas isnt good for the signal.

I think you solved my problem  Big Grin

No interference with this solution! Thanks!

Now i will fly to check that AIO and motors are still good and when I will be sure of this I will do some "cosmetic" adjustment to the wiring inside.
