Correct orientation of TX antenna?
#1
Bit of a noob question but I was wondering if you could give me some feedback on the correct orientation of my TX antenna in relation to the placement of my RX receiver.

I watched a video (see below) which discusses antenna polarization. I understand that an antenna (a regular 'whip'-like antenna describes an apple-like shape around it. In the pictures you can see where I have my RX placed at the moment. Given the orientation of those antennas, am I correct in thinking that the ideal direction for the TX antenna is to have it 90 degrees sideways (on the horizontal plane)?

Thanks for your insights!

I assume your RX has 2 antenna wires? In that case it doesn't matter as long as your RX antennas are 90 degree apart, and TX antenna is 90 degree to the aircraft (but definitely not pointing to it like pic 2)

Thanks! This RX has the antenna's parallel to each other which I guess isn't that useful of them. I'll see if I can resolder it to have it at 90 degrees angle.

What I normally do with my RX antenna's, is something like this Smile
it keeps them at roughly 90 degree apart
