First-thank you all for your input, very encouraged already by this forum. Here are some shots that hopefully will help. The props are on, came built. Motors don't seem like they're at idle, but maybe not full on quite? It feels like it wants to fly, but not violently. When I toggle the stick on aux one the marker moves from out of the yellow band into it. It also changes the arming disable flags on 'info'. I added the stick on channel 5 'mixer' on the controller. Also made adjustments in 'outputs' so that movements on the joystick went 1000 low 1500 center 2000 high.

hopefully this sheds some light

UPDATE:had changed the motor to 'brushed' in 'ESC/Motor features' now motors are off

ha UPDATE 2: I turned off 'motor_stop' in the above....It's working!! do the other settings in there look right??

When you say you toggle the stick, do you mean one of the switches on your radio? Motor stop should be on. Try also adding another switch for enabling Air Mode. So you then would flip the Arm switch (motors not spinning), then you turn on Air mode and then the motors should idle.

toggle-yes ch5 switch/aux1 (top left of radio). When I flip that on motors idle. When I had the 'motor stop' on nothing would happen. I can try those changes.

So having motor stop on is just kind of a safety feature. Most people have the arm switch, then the air mode switch. I think that will fix the issue.
Thumbs Up

cool. So I added the air mode switch, put 'motor stop' back. What's the benefit of air and arm vs just arm? With just arm I've got one 'kill' switch, with both it seems redundant? Also, added .40 RC expo to roll/pitch in BF. Seems to calm it a little.

Motor stop is to select between your motors spinning when you arm, or keeping the motors still until you apply throttle.

Airmode is great for acrobatics, it keeps the motors spinning even when you are at 0 throttle, so other (not throttle) stick inputs will still effect the attitude of the quad without any throttle being applied. So if you have motor stop on, and airmode on, the motors will still spin when you arm, because airmode will override motor stop.

Most people turn 'motor stop' off, especially with high speed brushless models. When you arm and the motors start spinning, there is an unmissable display that the quad is armed and could turn into 90kmh+ of blades and carbon fiber in under a second.

Hey, you should make your own post in the forum, this will get lost here.
