When I connect using my Mac I am unable to open up cleanflight when the RC in cables are connected. I have then left the cables in the RC In plug and have just unplugged PWM1 and I can connect to Cleanflight. This has never happened before. any ideas. • Posts: 2,286 Threads: 38 Likes Received: 1,527 in 995 posts Likes Given: 1,881 Joined: Apr 2016 Reputation: 72 Sounds like you have your receiver connected to the same UART as the flight controller uses to talk to the computer. If this was working before, what have you changed recently? • Posts: 7 Threads: 1 Likes Received: 0 in 0 posts Likes Given: 0 Joined: Nov 2017 Reputation: 0 (11-Nov-2017, 05:31 PM)unseen Wrote: Sounds like you have your receiver connected to the same UART as the flight controller uses to talk to the computer. If this was working before, what have you changed recently? Nothing has changed on the FC, this happens even when the receiver isn't plugged in. • Posts: 7 Threads: 1 Likes Received: 0 in 0 posts Likes Given: 0 Joined: Nov 2017 Reputation: 0 sorry in my first post I said it was the RC in where in fact it's the PWM out • Posts: 2,286 Threads: 38 Likes Received: 1,527 in 995 posts Likes Given: 1,881 Joined: Apr 2016 Reputation: 72 OK. Let me see if I understand you correctly. You have this flight controller: If you leave the connector plugged in to PWM_OUT, you cannot connect to the board with the Configurator. If you remove the PWM_OUT connector, or just the PWM1 pin, you can connect with the Configurator. Is this correct? • Posts: 7 Threads: 1 Likes Received: 0 in 0 posts Likes Given: 0 Joined: Nov 2017 Reputation: 0 • Posts: 2,286 Threads: 38 Likes Received: 1,527 in 995 posts Likes Given: 1,881 Joined: Apr 2016 Reputation: 72 Does the quad fly OK? When you can't connect, do the LEDs on the flight controller light up when you connect the USB cable? • Posts: 5,315 Threads: 672 Likes Received: 3,155 in 1,743 posts Likes Given: 2,030 Joined: Jan 2016 Reputation: 139 12-Nov-2017, 03:27 PM (This post was last modified: 12-Nov-2017, 03:28 PM by Oscar.) Was the 5V and GND connected too next to PWM1, that you have to unplug as well to get it working? • Posts: 7 Threads: 1 Likes Received: 0 in 0 posts Likes Given: 0 Joined: Nov 2017 Reputation: 0 Yeah the lights on the F.C. come on and the green one flashes. PWM 1 is connected Signal wire, Grd and 5V all connected. • Posts: 7 Threads: 1 Likes Received: 0 in 0 posts Likes Given: 0 Joined: Nov 2017 Reputation: 0 13-Nov-2017, 05:14 PM (This post was last modified: 13-Nov-2017, 05:15 PM by Tony 1717.) If you take out the PWM connector out of the F.C. I can connect to Clean flight. If I plug the connector back in and don’t connect up to the motor I still can’t connect. So there is an issue with the F.C. and the Connector. Hope this makes sense! • Posts: 2,286 Threads: 38 Likes Received: 1,527 in 995 posts Likes Given: 1,881 Joined: Apr 2016 Reputation: 72 I guess you are powering the flight controller via the +5V and GND pins on the PWM_OUT connector? Normally, there is a diode that stops the USB power feeding back out of the 5V input. My guess would be that this diode has been damaged somehow and that is what's causing the problem. • Posts: 5,315 Threads: 672 Likes Received: 3,155 in 1,743 posts Likes Given: 2,030 Joined: Jan 2016 Reputation: 139 14-Nov-2017, 08:57 PM (This post was last modified: 14-Nov-2017, 09:02 PM by Oscar.) Any recommendations for a new FC with Baro and Mag + OSD. was thinking of another Skyline32. • Posts: 2,286 Threads: 38 Likes Received: 1,527 in 995 posts Likes Given: 1,881 Joined: Apr 2016 Reputation: 72 Support for flight controllers based on the F1 MCU is coming to an end, so unless you want to stay with old firmware, you'd be better to look at an F3 or F4 based flight controller. The only difficulty I can see is that very few have an internal magnetometer. The SP Racing F3 Evo has both magnetometer and barometer. • |
