Clean Flight, SPF3, Sbus and Futaba
#1
Have any of you successfully set up cleanflight with SP F3 deluxe flight controller and a R7008sb futaba receiver?  My first limiting factor is getting cleanflight to the correct settings.  Specifically:
Receiver Mode:  Should be "RX_Serial" This resets to nothing selected when I Save and Reboot.
Serial Receiver Provider:  "SBus" I think this is the correct setting but there is also xbus....
Sbus cord is linked to the board via IO_2 connector
Receiver channel map always saves back to the AETR1234 setting. when I set to Futaba and Save and Reboot.
I have contacted Seriously Pro who indicated they don't use those receivers so they cannot suggest anything.

Any help is appreciated.

HI there,

Plug the SP3 into cleanflight, make sure you set Port to Uart3 first and then save, then select RX serial and SBUS, save, then plug lipo in (props off) and check if Receiver is working.

In terms of making sure you have the sbus cable in the correct port on the board..if you look at the board with the usb facing you being south , then plug the sbus cable into the large port on the west side of the board.

Hope that helps.

Thanks for you assistance. I will update with what happened. After I switched to Uart3 the board never reconnected. getting a " Failed to open serial port" error. I will follow the instructions in the manual.

update: reinstalled cleanflight and appropriate drivers however still unable to connect. one step closer with an error : No configuration received within 10 seconds, communication failed. Ill watch your youtube channel to see if there is any help there. but I might have to pick this up next weekend.

had to flash firmware using the boot jump. now I can connect.
Cleanflight
PORT: Identifier UART3 Data on@115200 saved. RX cannot get the Serial RX to stay on when saved
CONFIGURATION: Serial Receiver provider Saved as SBUS. Receiver Mode keeps going back to RX_PPM when I set to RX_Serial (Serial Based receiver (Speksat, SBUS , Sumd)
RECEIVER: Channel map only stays at AETR1234 and never shows any response from the connected (green light) RxTX link.

I have nothing connected to the UART3 pins which are upright. the receiver is connected to the large port on the West side that is a horizontal connection. The manual identifies this as the IO 2 port. I am using the cable that comes with the kit and it seems to align with the painless 360 videos.

Hmmm, Something sure is not right there, I have 5 quads with SP3 boards all running futaba sbus RX's and never had an issue.
Can you post a few pictures of your setup, paying close attention to the SBUS connection on the FC ., Also a couple of screenshots on your CF setup configuration for SBUS.

Thanks.
