CJMCU micro quad
#1
Hi guys, feeling like a proper noob!

I have been trying and failing to connect this (no really, this is the exact one Oscar (Thanks!) sent from his Housemoving Giveaway!)  CJMCU to CleanFlight using an ST-Link. ST-Link Utility shows the code for the FC but I cannot get CleanFlight to connect to it. Can it not be done through ST-Link or am I just missing something?

I have the iRangeX (FlySky clone) A8S RX and i6X TX (Thanks to Oscar, Sandra and BG) which I will review as soon as... I have (thanks to the A8S review from Grisha0 / Greg) managed to bind TX and RX using the 5v pin on the CJMCU board, but I don't know if I can use this RX on this board? It has a PWM receiver on it already, which I need to remove, just not sure where to solder PPM or SBUS/iBUS to..?

Thanks for any advice.

hey Tom,

Can you try re-flashing firmware on the board? (make sure to choose the correctly target)

If not working, I think the problem could be the USD to Serial adapter... I found the CJMCU board is particularly picky about which one you can use. I'm personally not technical enough on this subject to explain why. This is the one I used if I remember correctly (forgive me for not being definite, that was nearly 2 years ago) http://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/like/400871754...636&crdt=0

Regarding the RX, yes as long as it allows PWM then it should work with this board... but make sure it's light enough... the CJMCU runs 6mm motors and it can't carry much weight...
I was told the CJMCU has a PPM pin... (someone commented in my build log if I remember correctly) but I didn't have the chance to confirm it myself, so I was only using PWM.

Hi Oscar, I was trying to re-flash CJMCU CleanFlight FW that was updated early 2016, but CleanFlight Configurator doesn't even recognize the connection to the board. I can connect to the quad via ST-Link utility which seems to work because it shows the FC 'code' (which is compete gibberish to me) I guess this is the cleanflight that you uploaded to it because AFAIK the CJMCU board doesn't have any firmware as stock.

Anyway considering the 'pickyness' of the board and compatible Serial Adapters, it looks like I'm going to have to use the funky purple CJMCU just for decoration at the moment...
