I've disabled updates for Chrome on my Linux system now. That way, at least I'll be able to keep and run older versions of the CF/BF configurators and also keep the BLHeli Chrome app and the paid for MW_OSD app. I don't use Chrome for surfing, so keeping an outdated version doesn't have any security implications for me. • Posts: 12,099 Threads: 125 Likes Received: 3,738 in 2,835 posts Likes Given: 99 Joined: Feb 2017 Reputation: 388 Although I have not tried, but you can keep two versions of Chrome. https://support.google.com/chrome/forum/...ahI/?hl=en • Posts: 55 Threads: 9 Likes Received: 24 in 16 posts Likes Given: 1 Joined: Dec 2017 Reputation: 3 (17-Dec-2017, 06:12 PM)voodoo614 Wrote: Although I have not tried, but you can keep two versions of Chrome. https://support.google.com/chrome/forum/...ahI/?hl=en JB vid came out today new betaflight 10.0 its stand alone like a old fashioned windows program only linux --mac-os --win32 -- no X64! https://github.com/betaflight/betaflight...r/releases • Posts: 2,286 Threads: 38 Likes Received: 1,527 in 995 posts Likes Given: 1,881 Joined: Apr 2016 Reputation: 72 18-Dec-2017, 07:55 AM (This post was last modified: 18-Dec-2017, 07:55 AM by unseen.) I don't think it actually matters if the OS is 32 or 64 bit. The configurator is still written in Javascript and as a language, it doesn't care about how many bits the underlying OS has. • Posts: 55 Threads: 9 Likes Received: 24 in 16 posts Likes Given: 1 Joined: Dec 2017 Reputation: 3 just passing on what the support page says! • Posts: 122 Threads: 6 Likes Received: 77 in 48 posts Likes Given: 93 Joined: Aug 2017 Reputation: 4 This app should still run on 64 bit windows versions. Oscar
It's a PITA for Linux and Mac users. Chrome App is/was a great solution to compatibility.
Just for reference, I just built up a Halo Archon with Spedix BLHeli32 35A escs, then realised the BLHeli chrome app doesn't work with 32 bit BLHeli ESCs. Then I found your post about BLHeli Suite for the new 32 bit escs. I use a mac, and this windows software runs fine using WINE. To access the COM port in WINE you must symlink the macOS USB port like so Code: ln -s /dev/ttyUSBn ~/.wine/dosdevices/COM1
I used this not only alter two of the motor directions, I successfully flashed the ESCs with the latest BLHeli32 release. • Posts: 2,286 Threads: 38 Likes Received: 1,527 in 995 posts Likes Given: 1,881 Joined: Apr 2016 Reputation: 72 It's annoying to find that the new black box explorer does not have a release for Linux. • Posts: 634 Threads: 56 Likes Received: 335 in 196 posts Likes Given: 183 Joined: Mar 2016 Reputation: 15 there goes the portability and ease of use... hope folks will remain on the "i don't care what system you have got there mate". what im affraid ... That lets developers keep all the Javascript code that was run inside Chrome and run it stand-alone under the executable version of NW.js. So, all the platform portability will remain. It just requires that the developers can build the application for each platform. |
