Chris, Checking in!
#1
Hey guys!
Just some tidbits about myself.

I'm 18, I live in South-Eastern Washington State with (as far as I can tell) not a single other FPV pilot here.
I just started flying a Martian II a couple weeks ago and then broke an arm so I'm back to waiting for parts to come back in stock.

I'm just about to start my last year of high school and my second year of collage (at the same time!)

This forum has been so helpful for me and every question I had was answered perfectly. Love the community here! So awesome! Keep it up guys!

Thanks for the kind words Chris, Nice to have you onboard, and great to see you share experiences and that you are getting something out of the forum. Big Grin

I am pretty sure we have a wide range of ages here and people from all over the world, all with one common interest, and that is a passion for flying, and in particular a passion for FPV flying.

Good luck with high school and college.

I started into drones, when my 89 year old father wanted a drone for his 90th birthday.
It was to inspect the gutters of his house.
Saves climbing ladders you see.

So, I bought a cheapie RTF and was hooked.
I started with the Q450 kit, bought all the bits separately and assembled it OK.
Before I could get it to fly, some mongrel broke into our house and nicked all my drone bits.
It was about $900 worth of kit.

Dishearted, I gave it away but now starting again.

Looking forward to getting a new drone kit to lift-off the ground.

First thing, I backed up the config in Betaflight of the F4 flight controller.
Then updated the firmware, after typing "version" in at the CLi.
It said STM32F405 so selected the target and flashed the firmware.
After rebooting, the controller had lost its accelerometer calibration.

I Googled for a reason why but nothing came up.
Then I noticed in Betaflight that the target reads MATEKF405.
So I reflashed with the new target MATEKF405 and viola!
Everything working.

That's a long first post, but hello everyone.
