Check for Shorted brushless motor winding
#1
Can anyone tell me how to check for a shorted or broken winding in a brushless motor. I crashed and have a stuttering motor now and want to be sure it's a motor issue before I replace the ESC

Resistance across each wire, anything unusual, ground. Also check your signal output connections in your fc

Do you use bullet connectors?

There's no ground in a motor, what do you intend by it?

I think he mean the frame of the motor, if you measure zero ohm then you know that you have a damaged winding.

Windings have very small resistance which most multimeters can't measure, it will show 0 between two phases for both a good and a fried motor.
If you have a winding short to stator you have to measure between motor wires and the stator, which is generally not accessible for a multimeter probe.
