Can anyone tell me how to check for a shorted or broken winding in a brushless motor. I crashed and have a stuttering motor now and want to be sure it's a motor issue before I replace the ESC

Also check your signal output connections in your fc 20-Jan-2017, 01:11 PM Do you use bullet connectors? 20-Jan-2017, 02:20 PM 20-Jan-2017, 04:35 PM I think he mean the frame of the motor, if you measure zero ohm then you know that you have a damaged winding. 20-Jan-2017, 05:10 PM Windings have very small resistance which most multimeters can't measure, it will show 0 between two phases for both a good and a fried motor. If you have a winding short to stator you have to measure between motor wires and the stator, which is generally not accessible for a multimeter probe. |
