Cheap, nice pod frame
#1
The SpaceOne 220 bottom plate is $24.
If you have access to a 3D printer, This TPU pod looks great.

That's an incredibly cheap option to get a racing pod x frame.

Got the frame, printed the pod. This thing flies beautifully on default Betaflight PIDs. A full roll at 100% stick and I get no bounceback.

Well, it looks good, but before I took pics I decided I'm never going to use it again.
I took it out flying and in 10 minutes hit a racegate twice and broke 2 VTXs. If you press down on the pod directly above the FC stack, there is basically no resistance and whatever is on top of your stack (in my case, my VTX) takes the impact.
So for me, I'm going back to the CF top plate on this frame.
That said, this frame is only $35 for the full thing and out of the box is a really nice frame. I've never had a frame feel so locked in on stock Betaflight PIDs. I'm using RC Rate 1.0 and Roll Rate .8 and on full stick, it just stops with no bounceback when I let go.

Long story made short, if you want to use this pod, either don't crash directly into things or print the pod in Nylon, not TPU.
