Changing esc khz
#1
Just wondering how I change my esc khz?

I've got a sp racing evo on 2.8 betaflight and it's at 8khz looptime. But I don't know how to set the esc khz. I've installed the latest multishot blheli firmware on my Xm20a esc's.

How to I try 4khz and 8khz?

Thanks for any info.

I've done some more searching and while I haven't found a 'how to' I've click commands for 'motor pwm' settings. I'm assuming changing it from the default 400 to 4000 will give the esc's a 4k signal.

Can anyone confirm that I would be doing the right thing?

Nope.  Setting motor_pwm_rate above 500 will switch to brushed motor mode.

See: https://github.com/cleanflight/cleanflig...ocs/Cli.md

I think to do what you want, you will have to do through BLHeli (if that's the type of esc you have).

Ah OK thanks. After a bit of playing around with gyro and PID sync denom settings it seems I can only get this fc up to 4k/4k. The esc beeps go out of sync as soon as I try for 8k even with another of stuff turned off.

I found a bit on the betaflight wiki stating that the PID rate is the motor/esc update rate. So I've found my answer. This newbie just learnt one more thing today.
