Celestial Photography
#1
Man its been a while doing celestial photography.  Don't get me wrong, I don't have fancy equipment like that gadget that turns your camera to compensate for the rotation of the Earth or some telescope DSLR adapter thingy ... nah just a old school 300mm zoom lens and good ol' sunny-16 lol.

Behold ... the blood moon!!   Big Grin

Man, I was so disappointed that we had overcast skies. I mean, I expected it, but still.

The attached photos are by Dennis Miller, he is one of the sons of the pastor of the church I grew up going to on the central coast of CA.

Really wish I could have seen it in real life.

Whoaaaa!!! Those are amazing!!!!

Not gonna lie, it was a little disappointing. We had clear skies but too much light pollution with the eclipse happening so early for us and the moon staying relatively low. I was hoping for that ring of light but a blood orangy-red ... not so much.

Yeah, I’m a couple thousand miles north of you so even if we had clear skies, it wouldn’t have been dark enough to get a good view for most of it. But still, I would have liked to see it.

Speaking of celestial events… there’s a possibility that we may see a once in a lifetime brand new meteor storm tonight. In my time zone (pacific daylight time), if it happens, it should peak at around 10 p.m.

I’m really really hoping that we have a break from our usual constant cloud cover. If this happens, I really don’t want to miss it.
