Case for Fat Shark HDO + rapidFIRE + Spironet V2 Diversity Bundle?
#1
That's quite a mouth full for a subject. After 2 years of building and flying tiny whoops, that's what this FPV noob just got. Mostly because I got fed up with my indecision because nothing is quite 100% what I would like.

Anyway... 1.) I'm loving it! and b.) Holy crap, this is hard, y'all!

So my biggest pain points are this:
  • My face refuses to conform to the goggles. Apparently my right eye is lower that the left. Oh well, I'll live with it.
  • Attaching and detaching the antennas all time is a major pain in the behind. I've searched high and low to no avail... hasn't anybody come up with a case for the goggles with the receiver and the antennas attached? A friend of mind could 3D-print it if someone has designed something?
Cheers!

Why do you want have to attach and detach the antenna?

Your only real option if you don't want to get a 3D printed case is to use one of the larger generic VR goggle cases. Some of the guys on RCGroups were using those so they didn't have to remove the antennas. If I can find the posts again I'll reply back with which case that actually was.

If FatShark had made the case zip the other way, or made it a double zip case then you could fit the goggles in with the antennas sticking out of a hole in the zip section. But they clearly didn't think about that unfortunately.

The other option is to get some 3D printed thumb wheels to go on the SMA connections which makes it really easy to take the antennas on and off. You can see some on mine in the pictures below. There are loads of different types on Thingiverse HERE.

OK, found it. This is one of the cases that will fit FatShark goggles with the antennas still attached. It's called a "co2crea Hard Travel Case for Samsung Gear VR Controller Virtual Reality Headset" and can be found on Amazon HERE. Some of the other VR cases are probably also suitable but this is the only one I saw where someone had posted a picture of the goggles actually in the case to illustrate that it had appropriate internal dimensions.
