can you parallel "storage charge/discharge" batteries?
#1
Lets say I have a few batteries that I have not flown and they are fully charged at 4.20v per cell , can I parallel "storage charge" them together will no ill effects?   Up till now I have been bringing them down to storage level one by one.

I am guessing It will be safe to do as long as the pack/cell voltages are the same?  Just looking for opinions here.

Thanks
Cap

Shouldn't be any problem. It is basically the same as parallel charging. I do this all the time, and haven't had any problems yet

I think it's going to depend on your charger, how much it can discharge at one time.

If you can discharge 10 batteries in a row, why shouldnt you be able to discharge 10 at one time? The charger will only discharge at the same rate if it is one or ten batteries. Discharging 4x1300 mah batteries is the same as discharging 1 5200mah battery

If you would like to discharge your batteries quickly, I would recommend a discharger like this one: http://www.ebay.com/itm/AOK-3in1-Battery...SwAYtWJLDG

I think you can find it even cheaper on aliexpress or similar. I use this and have not have any problems with it yet. The only thing i have read about this is that some have experienced that it drains your battery if you leave it over night. But on the other hand, you really should not leave your battery plugged in over night in anything.

appreciate the input guys! I have a iCharger 306b on 24v , so I don't think I need to buy a separate discharger.

You are probably right, 80w discharge is quite descent. I have a small skyrc d100, and the discharge takes ages!

I use a little balancer with discharging capabilities, it came with a 3 halogen bulb harness and brings a fully charged lipo to storage level in 15 minutes, love it!
