Can't flash
#1
Just received the CL Racing F4. It connects to Betaflight without a problem. It has the latest 3.2 BF firmware preloaded  but I am not sure the candidate version. Anyway, I tried to reflash the firmware, but the boot loader failed. If I hold the boot button, my Windows 10 laptop said that I am in DFU in the device manager, but betaflight configurator doesn't indicate that I am in DFU. I have the most updated configurator.

Does CLF4 use STM VCP to flash instead of DFU? When I get home, will try the Mac to see if I have any success. Let me know if you have any insite.

I used my Mac and was able to flash through DFU. Now I am perplexed, why doesn't my Windows laptop work? I am able to flash BetaflightF3 and the DYS F4 using Windows without problem. I have the new Matek F405 F4 AIO, I am going to try to flash this board. Is there an update Zadig driver?

Update: For some reason the DFU driver was no longer working.  Just used this computer to flash a few days ago without problem, but now nothing was flashing even though it recognized STM device in DFU mode.  I tried every combination of Full erase, No boot sequence, different bandwidths without luck.  I was thinking in my head, I can't be like members who are having a hard time getting their FC to flash.  I can see the response, "have you try the ImpulseRC driver", "try a different data cable", "wiggle micro USB port".... Cry

Anyway, I fixed the problem.  Here is what I did.

Downloaded the new Zadig driver 2.3 (I had 2.2 installed)
Booted one of my board into DFU.
Go to Device Manager and Uninstalled the Zadig driver.  Remember to click delete drive box.
Restarted the computer.
Booted my board back into bootloader mode.
Open Zadig, click on List device, selected STM bootloader and installed the new driver.
Restart computer
Everything back working again.  Thumbs Up

I'd say that the best long term solution is to boot from a DVD or USB key with the installation for Linux Mint or Ubuntu and permanently remove Microsoft's spyware from your laptop.

You'd think that after nearly three decades, Microsoft could have implemented a stable driver framework for Windows that was easy and reliable to use. But no...

ROFL

That should be the new tagline for a distribution: "Linux Privacy Distro: The Microsoft spyware removal tool"

I wonder how long it would take before a small army of undead lawyers would be dispatched from Redmond to utterly destroy someone who actually tried that?

Not long I'd suspect!

I just waiting Matek F405 AIO, and I want to ask what is the procedure to flash this board on Mac? I'm new to this, and only finding solutions for Windows.

You don't need anything drivers for Mac, it will connect and flash. If it doesn't work, it is likely the USB cable. A lot of cables are charging only.
