Camera sensor problems?
#1
Hey Guys,

I know I'm not the only one running into this problem.  At this point I have 3 HS1177 camera that has video issues.  The closest thing I saw online was this  https://youtu.be/gE9KtQafvm0?t=73  except mine is a lot worse (it's like back in the 90's when you're trying to watch scrambled pay per view ).  If I apply pressure on certain parts of the back of the camera, the image comes back.  Is this a sensor issue? I tried gluing the sensor in place and even putting some sorbothane pads on the back of the camera to absorb vibration.  At first the camera seems ok, but one minor crash or flight vibration can cause the camera to get all scrambled again

Are these cameras garbage now?  Cry

I fixed one of my foxeer hs1177 by taking a soldering iron on each of the sensor legs to heat up the solder that was already there. I guess there must have been cracks in the joints that I redid, because my camera worked fine after. My camera had similar issues as yours, but black lines instead. If I gave pressure to the circuit board, the picture went fine. It could be worth a shot. There is a post here that refers to Oscars blog about the issue, but unfortunately I am on my way to work right now so no time to find a link for you Smile

On 3 cameras it's always the same area that has the problem.  I tried applying heat with a soldering iron and it seemed to help a little bit.  I still have to push in this area but not as hard as before.
